Chapter 69

Alexander POV

Impatiently I drum my fingers on my desk. Larissa should have been here hours ago to report on what is happening in the rogue camp. It is very unlike her to keep me waiting. I have a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach and I am sure that something has gone wrong with my seemingly flawless plan. While I wait I shuffle through some paperwork on my desk that has been set aside for too long. As I am flipping through the unfinished paperwork a loud knock on my door interrupts me. "Come in," I say hoping that it is Larissa on the other side. But my face falls in disappointment when I look up and see Raphael standing in the doorway to my office. "What is it?" I groan knowing that he probably only has bad news.

"The Fae Creature is at our borders and would like a meeting with you," Raphael says with an odd tone in his voice. It is as if he is trying to contain some sort of excitement that is bubbling up in his chest.

"Why would he want a meeting with me," I say
