Chapter 49

His large form was crouched, covered by darkness, blending in. Besides his outline, all she could see were two shiny black eyes that reflected what little light the night gave off. She could see a white cloud form as he exhaled, her chest dropped and she held her breath, waiting for him to do something.

And slowly he straightened his body to its towering height, his right foot slid over the ground in her direction followed by the other, with each step he took she felt like it was another nail to her coffin.

She wanted to run, to get up and run, to curl up and rock herself back and forth with her eyes closed until she woke up somewhere else. But she couldn't, her body was frozen in exhaustion and shock. She knew her arms and legs were there but she couldn't feel them.

He was right, he was faster, stronger and better than a werewolf.
