Se connecterOlivia POVA deafening silence followed immediately after his words. I was speechless and dumbfounded at the same time.Nobody had prepared or warned me about what he was going to say next.“Are you out of your mind?” Karl groaned, his face darkening with anger.I didn’t stop him this time. My mind was still trying to process what I had just heard, wondering if I had heard correctly.“What?”“Do you object to us being together?” Alpha Damien retorted.“Do you think I’m not good enough for her?” he asked.“Yes,” Karl replied immediately, without hesitation.“The Chosen One doesn’t need you or any man to lead,” Karl spat.“We are still not certain if she’s really the Chosen One,” Alpha Damien fired back.“You might be blind, but others are not.”“She’s the Lady of the Moon Temple and also possesses the sacred bloodline. What other proof do you need?”“She’s not strong enough to lead or command us Lycan Lords,” Karl stressed, glancing at the other Lycan Lords from the corner of his eyes.
Olivia POVI looked up at the people gathered around the table.“We choose where the battle happens.”I paused briefly, allowing them to consider the implications of my words.“That way, we have the advantage and control the narrative,” I explained.Silence filled the hall as they contemplated my words. Some looked uncertain, while others seemed to be weighing the risks against the possibility of gaining an advantage over our enemies.“You want us to risk our lives based on these reports and mere assumptions?” Alpha Damien spoke up again. He never seemed to get tired of challenging me.I turned towards him, meeting his gaze without hesitation.“What do you think we should do, then?” I threw the question back at him. “Have you got any other plans?”“We know Baalzelbul wants the Moon Temple,” he stated.“He’s going to come after you first, and you know that. So you need us to fight him to protect yourself,” he accused.“You want to use us as cannon fodder,” he pointed out.“Is that so?”
Olivia’s POV “Enough of blaming and accusing each other,” I continued. I placed both hands on the edge of the table and pointed at the markings covering the map, allowing everyone to focus on the territories before us. Red stones represented the territories that had already been attacked. Black stones marked locations where Evil God Organization activity had been confirmed. Silver stones represented the territories still under our control. There were too many red and black stones. Far too many. Every time I looked at the map, I was reminded of how much we had already lost and how little time we had left to prepare for what was coming. “We are running out of time,” I said. The hall became even quieter. “The attacks on the Moon Temple were not random. The western gate, the eastern watchtower, the Moon Vault, the villages, small packs, middle-rank packs, and the banquet hall were all targeted within the same period.” Elder Gabriel frowned, his eyes moving between the markings
Olivia’s POV“Yes,” he replied after a while.“Our Alpha and the Shadow Warriors never returned from Blood Valley. The elite team who survived were in a bad state, and they all narrated that the Alpha took a hit from the Evil God to protect you,” he replied.“Not returning means death in your words, Elder?” I paused, waiting for his response. But there was no answer. He couldn’t refute or counter my words. I had succeeded in planting doubts in his mind, as well as in the minds of whoever was pulling the strings behind the scenes and everyone else present.Although I had witnessed Alpha Kingsley being swallowed by that dark sphere filled with destructive energy, and the mate bond had snapped, I still held on to a little hope for a miracle.Something inside me kept telling me that things might not be the way they seemed. His body hadn’t been found. The Blood Shadow Warriors were nowhere in sight.Something didn’t add up, and right now, I needed everyone to have that doubt. If they belie
Olivia’s POVI immediately raised a hand to stop Karl before he could take another step.“Stand down,” I commanded firmly.Karl hesitated for a moment before returning to my side.I turned my attention back to Damien, refusing to let his accusations provoke me into losing my composure in front of everyone.“Enlighten me, Lycan Lord,” I answered calmly.“You, as the heir of the First Moon and Lady of the Moon Temple, are entrusted with the responsibility of fighting against the Evil God and the practitioners of black magic and dark arts.”He paused, allowing his words to sink in.“But,” he continued when he saw everyone nodding in affirmation, “you neglected your duties and responsibilities and ventured into Blood Valley to rescue a worthless kid.”My expression remained unchanged, although his words struck a nerve.“You knew it was a trap, yet you walked in blindly without a concrete plan, and you delivered your blood, the final key to awakening the Evil God Baalzelbul.”He allowed an
Olivia’s POVThe meeting hall had never been this crowded—not even during the Moon Banquet.Elders of the governing council.Lycan Lords, pack leaders, and pack elders.Elite warriors and young, promising werewolves were all in attendance.Representatives from the strongest packs across the werewolf territories had also gathered. They all stood around the massive stone table in the centre of the hall, staring at the map spread across its surface. Some exchanged whispers, while others studied the map with serious expressions, seemingly trying to figure out why they had been summoned here. For the first time since the Moon Temple awakened, I had called everyone together for one reason.War.Not defence. Not intelligence gathering, nor waiting for another attack. It was time to launch a full assault on the enemy camp.I sat on the Moon Throne, watching and observing each and every person present in the hall. There was loud chattering and gossip among the different people gathered. Some s
