CHARLES

“You better not try anything fun before that time!” Reed said to me like he was threatening me, and I chuckled.

“Do you still remember pretty well that I am still the king of the Lycan pack, the Alpha of the seven great seas, and before the title goes to waste, I might just use it to my advantage!” I said, and he rolled his eyes.

“You can't do anything; you are under probation, and I am the new Lycan king. You have to respect that!” He said it back to me, and I chuckled.

“We will see about that!” I replied and stood up.

“Since we have reached an agreement, I will go and tend to other things while you all go your way to your houses and await the day that comes soon!” I replied, and they all nodded.

“See you soon, Reed!” I said and walked out with Danford following behind me. He was working at the same pace as I, but I could tell he was walking with a heavy heart.

“What is the matter, Danford?” I asked, and he looked up at me.

“I'm sorry, your highness! I was just worried!” He said, and I chuckled, seeing him speak all formal with me.

I stopped walking and looked at him.

“Paul! You are my friend; you should be able to speak freely!” I said, and he sighed.

I refer to him as Paul when it comes to intimate matters like friends between us. He bears the name Danford as the chief warrior of the pack, but when it comes to me and him, I refer to him as Paul.

Because he is not just a warrior or a deputy to him, he is my best friend. The man who will go up to the moon and come back for me.

I have built loyalty with all my warriors, but with Paul Danford, I have built a bond! A family relationship!

“Do you know what you just agreed to put there? Giving your throne to that bastard is not the plan. I am sure Father will be mad that you did that!” He said,

I could sense how angry he was from his tone, and I smiled. I checked around to be very sure no one was close to us or trying to eavesdrop on our conversation.

“You worry too much, Paul!’ I said, and he rolled his eyes at me.

“I worry too much, and you don’t worry at all! That is not balanced. I am worried because you are being nonchalant about everything.” He said it like a nagging mother.

He was really worried, and I could already sense the constant change in his emotions even before we walked out of the hall.

He was on the verge of creating a scene by stabbing Reed or his mother in the hall, and that is who I can be, my man.

My buddy!

“This is not the right thing to do! They are not doing anything for your benefit, can't you see!” He said, and I smiled.

“Giving that son of a bitch the castle and the throne is like putting out heads on the stable and beheading it.” He added and tightened his fist.

His knuckles were already turning white due to the force and anger within him.

“He will haunt us. He will not kill us big, make our lives miserable, and you know, the warriors will never bow to him!” Paul said,

“And who said he was going to take my throne away from me?” I asked him, and he immediately went calm. He looked at my face with hope in his eyes.

“You have a plan, don't you!” He asked, and I chuckled.

“He came here setting a trap. He had arranged with the elders before coming, and they all showed up as planned. And seeing this, I just wanted to play the game they were pushing forward.

They think they are smart; I have been playing games before they can even think at all!” I said, and he smiled.

“Now I am at rest, assured that my men will not die like chickens in the hands of that bastard!” He replied, and I chuckled.

“So what will this be like?” He asked, and I smiled.

“Just me doing what they want!” I replied, and he smiled.

“But first, check something out for me, Danford!’ I said activation of his killer mode is whenever I call him Danford. I am not seeing him as a friend on an errand but as a warrior.

“Didn't those who have been leaking the castle secret out to either the elders or my brother! I want to know everything!” I said, and he was surprised.

“You think someone is leaking the castle secret?” He asked, and I nodded.

“I think Reed has a spy in the castle, and the elders also have some informant. They know way too much, and for my next plan, I want to blind them as soon as possible!” I replied, and he nodded.

“Consider it done, King Charles!’ He said and immediately went away. I strode towards Amy's room subconsciously as I was thinking of what to do and my next line of action.

I am sure Reed didn't do all of this without a backup plan, so what can it be, and who told him about Amy?

She just got here! How could he find her? And not only find her, but also claim that he is going to pursue her?

“She is my woman. She is mine!” I said to myself and punched the wall very close to me in annoyance.

I had wanted to punch my way through something at the hall, but I had to hold myself back and not expose everything yet, but now, I can't control my emotions.

“King Charles! Is that you?” A calm voice reached my ears, causing me to jerk out of my thoughts and anger.

I turned only to see her dove-like face. She was staring innocently at me.

“King Charles!!” She called out again.
