Chapter 32

FLINT.

I thought twice about the question he asked me. It is something that is wrong, but it was not even right to answer that question. 

How will I tell him I should have married Amy? How will I explain how I feel deep inside and the fact that I hide that Amy was my mate and not my present wife, Luna Kiara?

“I made a huge mistake, and I don't know if I can fix this or not!” I replied to him, and he looked at me before facing the ladies.

“Leave!” he commanded, and they all stopped and looked at me with a confused look. I am sure they heard his words, but we're not sure they heard him well.

“Sir!!” They said, and he punched his brow. “I will only say it once! Get out; your service is not needed here. Go to the other room,” he said, and they all ran off immediately. 

He faced me, knowing that this was a serious matter, and he sighed.

“Do you want to speak here or at my office?” He asked, and I sighed and looked around the room.

“This room holds more secrets than my castle, so let's drink here!” I said, and he nodded. He smiled a little and poured more drinks for me and himself.

“You hardly break down, and I am sure you are more worried than a breastfeeding mother. So tell me, what is the matter?” He said, and I chuckled.

He sure knows how to make matters less, and he is a very good listener; that is more of the reason that I come to him when I am going through something.

“So tell me, what is this about?” He asked, and I sighed again.

“It's crazy that I lied thinking I was doing the right thing, and I was right all along, but now, I can't help but think I made the wrong choice!” I started, and he sighed.

“We all make mistakes! Yours can't be as bad as mine!” He said, and I chuckled.

“Maybe, maybe not!’ I said, and he immediately became serious.

“Tell me!” He said, and I sighed.

“Kiara wasn't my mate. She was the one my parents chose!” I said, and he chuckled. “That is a lie!” He replied,

“I am not lying at all!” I replied, and he immediately drained the alcohol and spoke.

“This is going to be a long one!” He said, and I chuckled.

“So what happened? Who is your mate? Or should I say, who was your mate? Because no woman in her right mind will watch you get married and still want to stay with you!” He said, and I nodded.

“Amy!” I replied, and he was shocked. He almost spat out the drink in his mouth, and I rolled my eyes at him. Why will a man be as dramatic as a woman?

He could have taken the words without doing anything; he is just trying to be annoying! 

“You must be joking!” he said, and I shut my mouth, allowing him to digest the words I said.

“The same one—she is the lady I know, right! The Amy that killed your uncle!” He said, and I shook my head.

“You know Uncle Colt, he was never a good person. I am sure he may have deserved the death, and Amy told us that he wanted to rape her, and she became a wolf and tore him apart unknowingly.” I subconsciously defended her, and he was shocked.

“Did you just…?” He asked, but I continued speaking.

“It was self-defense. He was trying to rip her off of her innocence, and it is only right if he dies!” I said, and he smiled.

“You just defended her. Did you remember that your aunt was crying hopelessly that day?” He said it, and I laughed.

“My aunt is always the drama queen, I know. I am sure nothing happened to her, and she just wants to make it look like she is the real reason her husband died.

I am sure she was more than happy that her husband died. She is on the benefits side of the issue. Her husband was her own headache as well!

So how sure are we that she didn't kill him?” I replied, and he laughed.

“Tell me something, you have feelings for your former mate!” He asked, and I went mute for a while, and he opened his mouth wide in shock.

“You are in love with Amy!” he exclaimed, and I sighed and rolled my eyes.

“You are saying it like you don't know Amy. She is a beautiful lady. She was targeted by everyone; that was why I didn't want her, but she is the best lady ever.” I complimented her, and he was shocked.

“And you know that. She is sweet, kind, and lovely! She doesn't fake things or emotions. She is respectful and humble, unlike Kiara.” I added it, and he could only drink more whiskey from his cup.

“Kiara doesn't even care about me at all!” I said, and he sighed.

“You are a married man; even if Amy is like how you explained now, it doesn't help with anything! She is a loose case. You are a married man!” he said, and I sighed.

“Not for long!’ I said under my breath, and he frowned.

“What did you just say?” He asked, and I rolled my eyes.

“Don’t speak like I don’t know you have an eye on my wife!” I said, and he frowned even deeper.

“Don't talk nonsense, Flint. Kiara is a nice woman, and I am sure she is a good woman; you just have to make sure you stop comparing and appreciate what you have!’ he said, and I laughed.

“So convincing! So convincing, but you know I can see the way you admire her and look at her. She is the woman you had always told me was the forbidden fruit, right?” I asked, and he didn't say anything.

“She is the reason you fell in love again!” I said, and he looked at me and didn't speak for a while.

“Tell me it is a lie, and I will let it go!” I said.
