Chapter 38

CHARLES.

I couldn't hold on anymore as I went straight to kiss her. Honestly, I can't say what came over me, but I wanted to do it, and I went for it immediately.

“I…..” I stammered as I didn't want to say sorry. I am not sorry for kissing her. Yes, it is a rush, but I wanted to. I tried to kiss her also, and I wanted her to know that I desire her as a lady, as the opposite sex.

“Alpha Charles…” she said almost simultaneously when I spoke to her.

“You can call me Charles; you should call me Charles!” I said, almost stammering. I have never stammered all my life, but right in her presence, speaking to her, I stammered, and I forgot everything I wanted to say.

She looked down and blushed, and it was like there was a blast in my heart. It was so sudden, and I could never have imagined what her smile could do to me.

She smiles so beautifully that everything in me feels the impact of her beautiful smile.

“Charles!” She called out my name softly and I smiled happily at her. “I love it when you call me by my name!” I replied to her subconsciously and she smiled again.

Looking away shyly and I felt nothing but absolute joy in my heart. It was the best feeling that everyone could ever feel! 

“Sir, we are here!” The driver suddenly spoke as soon as I wanted to say more words to her. I felt frustrated and relieved at the same time, as I knew that the situation was going to be different.

I wanted to say more things, but staying in the same confined space with her was so tempting. My inner being wanted to hold her so close and touch her but she is still trying to get to know me.

Doing anything to her will make her scared and just make her leave me, and I don't want that at all.

I want to have her as my woman, so I have to be forward and gentle at the same time. I alighted from the car and helped her out.

The outside of the temple was decorated differently today. I guess it must have been as a result of my telling the priest that we will be coming for my mating ceremony.

I held her soft hands in mine and gently rubbed them! “Don't be nervous!” I said, and she looked at me and nodded gently.

She walked with me into the temple and the servants in the temple quickly left us to the front where we knelt before the small shrine.

The priest walked out with his two servants and a staff in his hand. He immediately bowed as soon as he saw us. 

He is meant to respect the crown. Despite the fact that I came to the temple, I am still the man who rules after the moon goddess. 

He might be the messenger from the goddess but I am still the man who rules the clan that he is.

“Getting your highness, may the goddess bless your year with fruitfulness and abundance, and may your days be with a good smile and an able leg!” He said, and I nodded.

“Bless you, son of the goddess!” I replied, and Amy bowed gently to him.

“Greeting…” he said, facing Amy, but suddenly stopped. I was shocked as I exchanged looks between the priest and Amy.

I am not sure if they knew each other or if something was wrong, but the priest stopped and just looked at her. 

I guess she was also confused, as she looked at me and back at the priest before looking at me again. She gave a curious gaze, and I replied with a sigh, language that I am equally confused by.

I have never seen the priest zone out. He is a pretty outspoken man, and he is always going for what he wants. He is here.

“Priest!” I called out and he looked at me.

“Blessed are you among all women, and blessed are you among all men! You have found your own, your queen, your wealth, your fortune, and the one whom the goddess has destined for you!” He said, and I smiled.

He spoke in parables and I was not sure why. Yes, I found my mate and that is why there is a mating session.

Did he think I was getting married to just any woman? No, I looked for her, and I am sure I found her before settling down.

I had received a prophecy from the priest like a decade ago that until the moon and the sun clash, I would never find my mate, and I should just hope to find a good woman when I want to settle down, but look at me.

I didn't have to wait for the moon and sun to clash till I find her. She is right here before his own eyes, and he is now speaking in parables.

I am lucky, yes, and I am grateful that she came into my life at this time of the year.

“Thank you!” I said to him, and he bowed briefly before turning to Amy again.

“Welcome into our life, the mother of multitudes, the defender of the motherless, and the lover of all. The one!” He said it, and I was confused.

What is with this whole epistle? I have never been to a royal wedding, but I have attended other meetings and sessions. The bride is not really praised like this, so why is he being extra?

Is it because she is going to be the queen? Yes, queens are different! They are referred to as the mother of all and other things, but isn't he being a little extra with Amy?

The poor girl is so confused and nervous as she keeps looking at me to understand what is really going on right now!

What is going on with the priest? Why is he being so extra? What are all of these?
