Lucian chapter 2

Lucian is a tall tan man with jet black hair, a bit of a scruff, his most distinctive feature is his bright yellow eyes, almost equivalent to the sun. his muscles and tattoos prominent with his suits sleeves rolled up. He stares out the window into the forest, when Rafe comes through his office door, Rafe is his beta he has been with him for centuries. “Ahhh, nothing like a good OL Sunday morning fresh spring air..oh all the sun-moon pack hasn’t paid their dues, really don’t like that Drake guy”. Lucian laughs “yea me either, I’ll deal with that another time, let’s go for a run my wolf is itching to stretch his legs” Rafe jumps up and they both head to the forest. Lucian transforms He was colossal, a midnight-black beast that seemed to absorb the light around him. More than just a wolf, his stature was regal, carrying a presence that brought silence to the forest. His pelt was groomed yet thick, concealing immense strength, and his eyes were a piercing, vibrant yellow—the hallmark of an Alpha. When he roared, it was not merely a howl, but a resonant sound of power that echoed with commanding authority, a silent warning that the forest belonged to him. While running, Lucian suddenly stops he smells intruders a deep low growl escapes his chest he mind links Rafe “ you smell them “ he responds “yes, unusual for the to be this close though, must be hunting something “ Lucia looks at Rafe “now we hunt them “ they take off after the scent.

They come upon a small pack of lone wolves, they were dangerous to most, completely feral, they were strays never to return to human form. They were surrounding a young woman, her scent over powered Lucian his mind and body recognizing it immediately “MATE” Rafe hears the mind link and they immediately pounce into action he slams the first wolf with the force of a falling tree, claws tearing out its throat before its body hits the earth, he uses the momentum to pivot, his fangs sinking into the spine of the second. The third and fourth turn to face him, but he is already upon them, a whirlwind of fur and fury a living barrier between them and the girl, he stands over their broke bodies, his muzzle dripping, his chests heaving his glowing yellow eyes fixed on the girl, just then she passes out.

Lucian shifts back to human form, his body still humming with violence, he kneels to gather her in his arms. His hands still slick with the blood of her attackers, cradling her unconscious form against his chest, every muscle in his body a tight coil of feral protectiveness, as he checks her throat to feel the steady, living pulse beneath his fingers, he lowers his head, inhaling the scent of her hair and the faint offending smell of the lone wolves, a low continuous growl rumbling in his chest but a profound, grounding reassurance meant for her alone even in her unconscious state.

She is rushed to the pack hospital, where the doctors and staff work on her, Lucian and Rafe sit in the waiting room, Lucian pacing back and forth, Rafe looks up “Sage is on her way” Sage is rafes mate, they have been together for hundreds of years she is a blonde tall and with ice blue eyes., her kindness over powers her beauty though. They wait patiently for the doctor. He soon steps up to the the group he stares at Lucian and says “ she has a concussion and a few cuts that needed stitches but she will be ok, she is still sleeping but there is something else I need to show you” the doctor walks to her room Lucian following close behind, he stares at the girl hurt in his eyes he lowers the blanket from her body revealing bruises old and new, a lot of scars and wounds still healing, the doctor covers her “she has been through a lot, there’s more” he holds up X-rays “she has multiple old fractures mainly in her wrist and upper arms, they were never treated”. Lucian look in disbelief how could someone do this to her?

Rafe grabs his face in disbelief “the poor girls been through more than we have in centuries in just a couple years”. Lucian looks at Rafe and then goes back to the doctor, nods and thanks him. He enters the room where the girl is laying still asleep, he stands near her bed, his fingers gently tracing the scars on her body, “no one deserves this.” He moves and sits in a chair across the room, his devotion to her is already strong he will not leave her till she wakes.

Rafe leans in the doorway he stares at the bruised and battered girl, being Lucians Beta, her protection is his job for now. Sage walks in the room and stares at the girl she cups her mouth with her hand the sight is just devastating. “Lucian, the lone wolves did not do this, she has to be from a pack, treated like a slave no less, don’t worry we are all her protectors now she will be ok.” Lucian still says nothing, but Sage is right, she must be from a pack... but which one? He has met everyone from every pack and he has never seen her… he would surely remember” suddenly she starts to stir, Lucian rises with anticipation.
