Jolene's POV

It was unbearable, it was as if my body was submerged in a fire. My whole body was uncomfortable and I couldn't help gasping in pain. I've always thought that one wouldn't feel pain once one dies but it seems to be a lie. It hurts, it hurts so much.

My whole body was as heavy as a lead, I tried to lift my arms but I couldn't, and no matter how much I struggled, my eyes seem to be shut with glue making me unable to open my eyes.

After what felt like centuries, I was finally able to open my eyes to see a beautiful space, 'It's so beautiful. Heaven is so beautiful.' I thought as my green eyes darted around in curiosity.

I tried to look around without straining my painful neck and soon I realized that I was in space. I was in a room; a very big and beautiful room.

The room was painted and decorated in white, and I suddenly realized that I was lying on the bed. This is crazy, is there a bed in heaven? I thought in bewilderment.

"Princess, you're finally awake!" Two women suddenly rushed to me with excitement.

Looking at their face up close, they looked so gorgeous coupled with their white clothes which made them look like an angel. Beautiful ones.

But… Wait! Did the angels just call me princess and what do they mean by 'I'm awake,' didn't I die? I parted my lips to ask but I was unable to say anything because my throat was hoarse.

"Sorry, I'll give you water." One of the angels said in a caring voice which sent happiness down my spine but now I was surprised and curious.

My patched throat was better after the cup of water. "Thank you," I uttered

"You're welcome to Flare Kingdom., Princess." The second woman said with a soft smile.

I furrowed my brows in confusion wondering if Heaven was also divided into different kingdoms and why they were calling me princess.

"Thank you." I appreciated, but before I could ask I heard the first angel say, "That's what mother should be doing."

I looked at her in shock and wondered what she was talking about. I tried to sit up but the woman who called herself mother immediately stopped me and told me not to.

"Why did you call yourself mother and am I not dead? Am I still on earth?" I asked in confusion since I wasn't able to decipher everything due to the headache and the pain coursing through my system.

The second angel chuckled in amusement. "No princess, you're not dead, you're still on earth, of course."

I looked at both of them in disbelief, wondering if they were playing games.

I jumped down from a cliff and fell headfirst on a rock, how can I still be alive like they claimed, "But I jumped down from a tall cliff, how am I still alive?" I asked

"That's because you're a royal lycan." The first woman explained which sent me into another bout of shock.

"I'm not a weak human being?" My eyes widened in surprise and excitement.

"Yes, princess. You're a royal Lycan. My and your father, the king's child." The first ang- I mean woman who called herself mother, explained.

"What do you mean… I'm your child?"

"Yes princess, I'm sorry but we lost you during childhood. We searched for you for a long time but we couldn't find you, we could only find your shoes and accessories littered on the floor." Mom explained with a trace of sincere sadness on her face.

"It's not like you threw me away because you rejected me?" I asked trying hard to fight my excitement

Mother shook her head immediately, "How can we reject you? You're the most precious thing that ever happened to us." Mother explained which made my eye watered

"I… it feels like a dream …" I muttered with a stutter.

 Mother interrupted, "It's not…"

"It's just… it's simply unbelievable." I interrupted her with a frown and some other feelings that I couldn't understand. "I've been living like a werewolf all my life, then I was suddenly said to be a weak human and now you said I'm a lycan. How can I believe that?" My voice turned sharp at the end of the words. Unable to explain my current feelings.

"We guess you wouldn't believe it so we made a DNA test to confirm. You can look at it." The second woman explained and brought a paper. It looked different from the papers I'd seen and it looked thick like leather.

"Can't DNA be faked?" I suddenly said in sarcasm which caused tears to pool in my mother's eyes. My head lowered in guilt.

"Besides, don't you think that it's possible seeing how you both looked like you were shaped from the perfect mold?" The second woman said.

"Can I get a mirror please?" I asked quietly.

"Yes." The woman replied and in a few minutes I had the mirror in my hand

Even though I didn't want to believe it, I knew she was telling the truth. "How did you save me?" I asked quietly considering that I fell headfirst on a rock.

"I didn't save you, your father did…" mother revealed

"My real father?" I uttered in shock. I seemed to be getting lots of news that sent me into shock.

"Yes, the lycan king. He smelled your unique royal scent when he was running for his practice in the werewolf pack. He guessed that you must have fallen into the water below the cliff which washed you to the place where your father saw you."

I was surprised by all the explanations but my heart was getting warm because I knew that I wasn't alone anymore; I wasn't rejected also; I wasn't a weak human, instead, I'm a Lycan, a stronger version of a werewolf, "What's a unique royal scent?"

"That's a type of smell only the royal Lycan with the purest blood possesses."

"So, it's not like I'm useless. It's not like I'm weak." I asked tearfully.

"Nonsense! Who said so?" Mother roared in anger but she quieted down and said, "Watch until you awaken your bloodline."

I finally couldn't help crying, the woman who was my mother held out her hand awkwardly with sadness as if to hold my hand. I slowly nodded to her and a beautiful smile appeared on her angelic face. She immediately pulled me into her embrace and rubbed my back comfortingly.

It's so comforting under mom's touch, I muttered with a sigh and sniffed her scent. It was so heavenly and comforting that I couldn't find the energy to cry again. I was filled with happiness.

Mom's face was filled with struggles and hesitation but after a few mins she asked, "But why did you jump down from the cliff?"

Her question made me freeze in my arms and upon remembering all I had gone through in the past few hours, my tears couldn't help falling; Maverick's rejections, the truth behind my identity, and how no one would care about my absence stabbed me cruelly in the heart.

My breath came out in such a hurry that I couldn't help gasping for pain as my heart began to hurt. "Baby! Princess!" Mother called in anxiousness but I had fallen quiet.

I was happy for this time I had, I used it to have another meeting with my family members, the idea was to find a solution to the vampires problem, I met and urge with those who I could to assist while sending a message to others to help before there is a shortage. The feed back was more than pleasant, we had more and more volunteers and all their blood work came out clean, before long the vampires had their kingdom in check, everyone who was poisoned with the bad batch were in no time cleared, Alaric on the other hand barely called and seemed to be very busy, I knew he was recovering and possibly scheming, but I was happy provided it was all rhetorical and whatever plan he might make possible was all faulted by us. Alaric came back after three days visiting his “mother”He drove into the compound and got out of his vehicle I rushed to him and hugged him tightly “Babeeeee! I woke up to the sound of Alaric voice, he was singing out loud and cheerfully as if he had won the lottery, I knew he believed he was winning in this silent battle he was having with me and my family but I knew he was in for a rude awakening I also perceived the nice aroma of breakfast, what ever he was cooking was definitely going to be very delicious He was cooking for me again I noticedHe really can be romantic but I smiled as I knew it was all a ruse, this was all a front to deceive and manipulate me but I was willing to allow him take advantage of me if this is his method of doing it. Alaric feels he is playing me whist it is the other way around, I want him as distracted as possible so he would not know how time flies. I could already smell from my room that he was cooking and that it was going to be delicious. • The Alpha Rejected Mate Is A True Lycan    Connection

I knew past day I have given all my time to Blake because of how much I missed him, i know before Alaric comes for me I need to have a private meeting with all my family members, I knew this could possibly be our last moment together before the inevitable happens so I need to be sure everyone was on the same page. I made a mental connection to everyone I could, that we should meet in the dining room alone to go over our plan. I remove what I wore to bed and walk to the bathroom. I stand at the sink and brush my teeth. When I am done, I step into the shower and turn on the tap. I wash my hair and when I am done with washing my hair, I start washing my body. I finish with my shower and dry my body with my towel. When I finish, I wrap the towel around my hair so it can dry. I leave the bathroom and walk to the vanity. When I get there, I plug in my hair dryer and start blow drying my hair. Once I am done with drying my hair, I put on hairspray and I style my hair. I brush my hair until

As we stood there, disoriented and shaken, a distant sound caught our attention. The rumble of an approaching vehicle grew louder, filling us with a glimmer of hope.Within moments, headlights illuminated the darkened road, revealing the figure of a passerby. A kind stranger had stumbled upon our wreckage, offering a helping hand in our time of need.As the headlights grew brighter, casting a glow upon the wreckage, a wave of relief washed over us. The stranger approached with cautious steps; his concern evident in his eyes. It was Blake."Blake?" I murmured in disbelief, my voice barely above a whisper. I couldn't believe the twist of fate that had brought him to our side in this moment of desperation. He nodded, a mixture of surprise and concern crossing his face. "Luna, Alaric, what happened? Are you both alright?"Alaric, still recovering from the impact, managed a weak nod. "We were in an accident. The car crashed, and we need help."Blake immediately sprang into action, his quic

  • The Alpha Rejected Mate Is A True Lycan    Heartfelt moment

So, I had stayed inside, curled up in my blankets, trying desperately to distract myself with a book. However, it proved to be useless, and I ended up spending most of the afternoon watching TV in silence, occasionally sipping an occasional cup of coffee when I was bored. It had started raining halfway through my fourth cup of coffee, and the raindrops were falling onto the windowsill as I sat huddled underneath my covers, my knees pulled up to my chest and my arms wrapped tightly around my legs. A few minutes later, the front door swung open, and a mixture of anticipation and apprehension filled the air. My heart skipped a beat as I sat up, hoping it was him, hoping for a chance to reconnect. But as I heard the loud clattering noise, my hope turned to confusion, and I couldn't help but follow the sound."Dad!"The word escaped my lips before I could stop it, a combination of surprise and uncertainty. There he was, my father, walking further into the house, his presence stirring up a

They sat there for a moment. The only sounds in the room were their quiet breaths. Their footsteps echoing softly throughout the empty restroom. The ticking of the grandfather clock somewhere far away in the distance. They listened to its rhythm until Luna pulled back, resting her head on his shoulder again. Alaric looked down, catching sight of the bracelet she wore around her wrist. A simple silver band with tiny white flowers embroidered onto it. It reminded him of the sunflower bracelet his grandmother had given him when he was younger. He smiled faintly at the memory, running his thumb across the band. "It's funny. Before Mom died, she bought me this bracelet, too," Alaric murmured, his fingers tracing the delicate patterns on the bracelet lightly. "The sunflower represents hope…" he mumbled. Luna lifted her head, her eyebrows knitted together as she looked at him in confusion."Hope?" she questioned. Alaric shook his head slightly, smiling weakly. "Yeah." He paused, trying to f
