I stood in the wreckage of my study for a long time after Fiona left, staring at the scorch marks on the walls and trying to make sense of what my life had become.

Twenty years of careful leadership. Twenty years of putting pack needs above personal desires. And now I was mated to a woman who might be the most dangerous supernatural being in North America.
