You are nothing but a tool” Philip growled in her ear. Goosebumps rose up her arms as she fought back the tears. “Why are you doing this to me?” She asked with a small voice staring at her best friend across the room who was trying to conceal her smirk. “I can do whatever I want because I am the alpha!” his boomed across the entire room.... Anastasia has to decide her fate. She discovers the purpose she is mated to Alpha Philip; bring prosperity to the pack. She is reduced to nothing but a tool as a rare white wolf. Betrayed by the only family she has ever known she is confused and alone. She breaks free before it can ever happen but fate has other plans for her by making her cross paths with her one true mate. As they try to deny fate so many obstacles fall in their path, will Anastasia accept these feelings of hers? Or will she go against fate with her newly found freedom?
Lihat lebih banyakAnastasia stopped listening in the meeting almost thirty minutes ago. She daydreamed about how her life would have been if she was not chosen to be the next Luna by her pack.
The mate to be mother was droning on and on about his likes and dislikes, how to behave in front of him and other people and other insignificant duties of a Luna.
“You speak only when spoken to. You are never and will never be equal to your mate.” She said.
Anastasia felt like someone was strangling her slowly. She felt like she was losing more and more control over her life.
“Excuse me” she cut of the droning woman and cringed slightly when she looked at her like a bull looking at a red colour.
“My mother just mind linked me to come home. There’s something important going on.” She lied. She just wanted to leave this boring meeting.
Since her mate to be mother respected her parents she agreed reluctantly. Anastasia let out a breath she has been holding since she entered the room. She felt so suffocated.
Putting on a brave face she left the pack house and head to her house. Some families didn’t live in the pack house and she was one of them. She preferred it that way since she had less drama from her mate to be ex-girlfriends.
Her parents were in the dining room when she came back. Silence filled the room. She sat down uncomfortable with the tension in the air. There was always tension.
“Did you visit Philip today?” Her mother asked breaking the silence. There was a brief moment of silence.
“No, I did not.” She replied while cutting a piece of rare steak. It was common for werewolves to eat their meat rare.
“Why is that?” her father asked.
Anastasia was required to meet Philip Alistair; the alpha of Greenhill pack; at least once a day to build connections with each other.
Unfortunately, Philip made it difficult for her by being busy anytime she comes around. Then somehow it’s her fault if they don’t meet.
“Well alpha Philip was busy at the designated time we were to meet.” She said through her clenched teeth. The food was no longer looking appetizing.
“It doesn’t mean that you couldn’t have waited for him. He is a busy man you know.” Her mother reprimanded her.
Anastasia closed her eyes in frustration. This happens every night.
“Well he might be ‘busy’ but I have a life that does not need to revolve around his needs.” She bit back but it came out more harshly than intended. Her parents stared at her as if they couldn’t believe she spoke like that.
Anastasia resumed eating even though it tasted bland.
“How could you speak to your mother like that?” Her father growled. Anastasia refused to be scared.
“I do not want to be a mate to Alpha Philip anymore. I believe our mating will be one that is not out of love and miserable.”
“It doesn’t matter what you want. What the pack wants is a Luna and the pack chose you.” Her mother said coming out of her shock. Anastasia stood up and left the dining room quietly as if she was not fuming inside.
When she stepped outside and the cool breeze touched her face her chest loosened a little. Little tears formed in her eyes and just as she was about to scream some rustling footsteps stopped her.
“I’ve been looking for you everywhere” Elizabeth Green said as she stepped from the trees removing dead leaves from her hair.
Anastasia smiled as she stared as her best friend approach her with a smile.
“What are you doing here?” she said playfully as she sat down beside her. Anastasia put her head on her shoulder and sighed staring at the bright moon. She silently prayed to the moon goddess to free her from this unwanted mating.
The silence was peaceful. Occasionally interrupted by some howling wolves.
“So what’s going on Ana?” Elizabeth asked, breaking the silence. Anastasia sighed.
“I don’t want to be mated to Alpha Philip anymore but my parents won’t listen”
Elizabeth quietly hummed while stroking her hair.
“Have you tried to form a relationship with Alpha Philip?” She asked.
Anastasia knew she did not want any form of relationship with him but at least she tried to see him once a day. So she nodded.
“Ana being the Luna of Greenhill pack is a privilege that many would die for, don't you think you’re being a little too ungrateful” Elizabeth said bitterly.
Anastasia gasped and stared at Elizabeth.
“Eliza, I'll gladly give it up to anybody
I don’t want to be with him. Doesn’t what I want matter?” She asked.
Anastasia also found it confusing that they were making her mate with him when many other women in the pack would like to be with him. She found it odd.
Elizabeth grabbed Anastasia's hands tightly.
“Try to love him and understand him. He might be going through a lot with the weight of the pack on his shoulders. Give yourself a chance at love him. He might be the love of life if you try Ana.”
Anastasia stared at their joined hands. Elizabeth had been the only one in the pack to associate with her.
People assumed she was a snob because she was quiet and didn’t talk much but Elizabeth didn’t think that. She had always been there for her so she always trusted her judgment.
This time she had a nagging feeling at the back of her mind. She looked into her eyes to know if there's any lie behind it. Her brown eyes seemed so sincere. Anastasia sighed.
“Fine.” She grumbled.
Elizabeth squealed and clapped her hands together while hugging her at the same time. It made her laugh.
“I’m so happy you are giving yourself a chance at love.” She said then let out a gasp. “I know what we need to celebrate.”
Anastasia stared at her in anticipation.
“Let’s go to the club. Experience your first time in a club before you mate.” She said jumping to her feet pulling her up too
Anastasia allowed herself to be dragged along as Elizabeth chattered about the cute clothes they would wear.
A nagging feeling of discomfort tug
ged the back of her mind once again almost causing her to stop walking but she ignored it. She was finally going to have fun for the first time.
."Phillip, please," she pleaded, her voice trembling. "This is about so much more than us. The fate of the Blackwood, of our entire world, is at stake."Phillip's gaze remained fixed on Damien, his expression twisted with a mixture of desperation and obsession. "I don't care about the Blackwood," he spat. "I only want what's mine – you and our son."Damien's muscles coiled with the promise of violence, his magic crackling in the air around them. "She is not yours, Phillip," he growled. "She is mine, and I will not let you take her or our son from me."Ana felt a surge of anguish coursing through her. She had once loved Phillip, but his obsession had consumed him, blinding him to the greater threat that loomed before them. She knew that she had to find a way to reach him, to make him understand the gravity of the situation."Phillip," she said, her voice firm and unwavering. "If you truly care about me and our son, then you will help us. The Dragonkin and Damian have breached the hear
I sat back at the table, sipping my water as the others returned and settled in. I could feel the tension in the air, the uncertainty and unease that clung to us all like a heavy shroud. As Ana and her mate Damien took their seats, I cleared my throat, gathering their attention. "Are you all ready to continue?""Yes, I believe we are," Ana replied, her voice calm but resolute.I took a deep breath, steeling myself to relay the rest of this tragic tale. "Alright, then. Let's go back to your mother and father..."I recounted the history, how Sophia's jealousy and thirst for power had driven her to manipulate the truth, trying in vain to tear apart your parents' mated bond. "Everyone knows you can't alter an accepted bonded pair, especially Lycans. But Sophia believed she could twist their reality, and she failed."I paused, hanging my head in shame. "This caused your mother to no longer feel safe returning home. The tension and mistrust rose, and your family was torn apart."Ana's brow
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. A gasp left my mouth, muffled by my hand covering it. I was now, more than ever, thankful for two things - Dexter's death, and the alternate reality I had been sent to. Without it, we would never have discovered this.I took a step towards the large underground chamber, but Everest stopped me."Avalynn, this may be a trap. Don't go in," he urged, his eyes filled with concern."But if I was led here, there must be a reason," I argued, my gaze unwavering."I'm with Avalynn on this," Brent chimed in. "She was sent here for a purpose."Everest sighed and reluctantly allowed me to proceed, following closely behind. As I descended the steps, a soft, barely audible voice came from the darkness. "I told you she would come for us. It was just a matter of time."My eyes adjusted, and the sight before me was deeply disturbing. Dozens of people were chained to the walls, their wrists bound together. The clanking of the chains and the grunts of those imprisone

We were running hard and fast, closing in on Dexter. I could smell his fear as we gained ground, the scent fueling Ana and Charlotte's power. They were thriving on it, pushing themselves to the limit."Babe, slow down!" Damien called out through the link, but Ana ignored him, driven by the intensity of the chase. As they crested the mountain, Ana caught a glimpse of Dexter, the sound of tires squealing in the distance as he tried to make his escape. With a mighty leap, Ana launched herself from the peak, Charlotte's growl echoing through the valley.Dexter turned, his eyes widening as Ana came barreling towards him. They collided, tumbling down the mountainside in a flurry of claws and teeth. Ana fought to maintain the upper hand, determined not to let Dexter slip away again. They crashed into a large boulder, Dexter's head slamming against the rock with a sickening crack. He howled in pain, but Ana refused to relent, her jaws clamping down on his arm as he tried to shove her off.Sud
The treeline concealed Ana and Charlotte as they stood among the other Lycans. The light breeze tickled their fur as Charlotte inhaled deeply, catching a familiar scent - Dexter.Ana's head turned towards the direction of the wind, a low growl rumbling through her. "It's Dexter's scent. Faint, but I'm sure of it," she linked to Damien."How sure are you?" Damien questioned."Willing to bet everything I have on it," Ana replied, Charlotte turning so they could look at Damien as he approached. They crouched, looking out over the small human town below. It was quaint, with a newly repainted courthouse and bustling businesses lining the streets. Ana could hear the faint voices of the townsfolk, knowing they had to be careful not to draw attention.Miranda came around, passing out herbal necklaces to conceal their scent. She helped secure one around Charlotte's neck before moving to Damien. The four of them overlooked the town as the sun set, discussing their plan to move in under the cove
The air crackled with tension as Phillip and Damien faced off, their eyes locked in a fierce battle of wills. Ana clutched her son tightly, her heart pounding in her chest as she watched the confrontation unfold."Phillip, please," she pleaded, her voice trembling. "This is about so much more than us. The fate of the Blackwood, of our entire world, is at stake."Phillip's gaze remained fixed on Damien, his expression twisted with a mixture of desperation and obsession. Jewel's lips curled into a cruel smile, and Ana saw a glimmer of madness in her eyes. "Oh, but it does, dear brother," she purred, her gaze shifting to Ana and her son. "The Blackwood, the power that flows through your son... it all belongs to me."Ana felt a chill run down her spine, her arms tightening protectively around her child. "Jewel, you don't understand," she pleaded, her voice laced with a desperate urgency. "The Blackwood is in danger, and your obsession with power is only making things worse."Jewel's expression darkened, and Ana watched as she drew her sword, the blade glinting menacingly in the shadows. "I don't care about the Blackwood," she hissed, her gaze fixed on Ana. "I only care about what's rightfully mine."As the confrontation escalated, Ana felt the weight of the Blackwood's power pulsing through her, a wild and untamed force that seemed to respond to the very depth of her desperation. She knew that she had to find a way to protect her son, to keep him safe f
The weight of Elea's words hung heavy in the air, and Ana felt a surge of dread wash over her. Damian, the alpha she had trusted, had betrayed them all, allying himself with the Dragonkin in a bid for ultimate power.Beside her, Damien tensed, his expression a mask of rage and betrayal. "How could he do this?" he growled, his magic crackling in the air around them.Elea's gaze was somber as she met Damien's fierce glare. "Damian has been consumed by his ambition, blinded by the promise of unfathomable power. He believes that by harnessing the Blackwood's energy, he can reshape the world to his liking."Ana's heart hammered in her chest, her arms instinctively tightening around her son. "Then we have to stop him," she said, her voice laced with a quiet desperation. "We have to protect the Blackwood, and our son."Elea nodded solemnly. "That is why you must hurry, Guardians. Damian's forces have already breached the inner sanctum. If they reach the heart of the Blackwood, all will be lo
