Chapter 35: Resentment.

Curious, I quickly averted my position towards Caled to look him in the eyes. His voice sounds so serious and I couldn’t just ignore it. When our eyes met, I saw the guilt that I have never seen from him before.

“What is it, Caled?” I asked.

He looked like he’s still doubting whether to tell me or not but I lifted up my hand to touch his cheek, assuring him to go on and tell me what was bothering him. I don’t know if what he was going to tell me would hurt me, but still, I need to know.

“You can tell me, Caled…” I said as I caressed his cheeks with my hand.

He sighed before he licked his lips. When he did that, I finally had a hint on what it was that he wanted to say. In a dark room like this, only lit by the lamp and the moonlight, there’s a glimpse of memory flashed into my mind.

“Caled…” I called him after a moment of silence.

“Do you remember the night when you were once drunk at the party that my brothers and I organized?” he asked. His voice sounds nervous.
