The room fell into a complete, awkward silence.

I stared at Sinclair. Then at Emmett. Then at the bouquet of white roses still resting in my arms.

My brain seemed to have paused somewhere between the words 'third' and 'chosen.'

A voice came from the hallway. "Absolutely not."

I looked up as Rafe stepped into the room. His arms were crossed over his chest, his expression colder than I'd seen since I met him.
