EMILIA POVMy day at work was a hectic one. From giving accounts for my days at home to submitting files asked for by the manager. For goodness’s sake! I had imagined it would be different in the human world, which was why I left the Pack I belong to in the first place. But do I have to work to feed all the time? Why can't I just feed on humans and be all alright? I dumped my office key on the couch and took a seat next to it. A grimace appeared on my face when I thought of how boring my life had become. What would I do without a man like Tristan? “No way!” I sat up, shoving thoughts about him away from my head. Why was it so hard to forget about a man who played with me and my emotions? Was this the reason why he didn't want me to meet with his family during the first year of our relationship? Even in the second year, he was never willing to let me meet his parents. I have been a stupid woman. What more description would fit into how stupid I was? I got on my feet, picked
ORION POV I looked down at her, a smile on my countenance. For the first time since my encounter with her in the Club's compound, I found her pretty. “Who—” she mouthed, pointing at me. “I don't want to slap you until I am certain. Which one are you?”A chuckle escaped my lips. Who is this woman? I laughed and cocked my neck. “Who do you think it is?”She walked closer, raising her hands to touch my face. “I wouldn't know, but Tristan would not be nice. Not after all he's done.”“I thought as much,” I shifted a bit from the door and let her pass. “You used the male toilet, ma'am. I should have told you on time.”Without saying a word to me, she walked away. I wouldn't blame her, would I? I walked in, shut the door and used the toilet before finding my way out of the space.Somehow, I admired her guts.So she could come to the same bar she got herself embarrassed in, after that day? Who is this woman? I wondered again, shutting the large door and finding my way out of the bathroom.
TRISTAN POV Why was she yet to reach out to me?The last time I checked, Emilia always apologized on my behalf whenever we had issues and all I did was sit and wait to be begged, even when it wasn't her fault. It was good to see, and there was a good feeling that came with it. It has been weeks since I failed to make it to her apartment. Why have I yet to hear from her? Not even a call.A hand knocked on my door and I snapped my fingers, a signal that whoever it was at the door should find his way in. “My lord,” the guard who watched after the door of my room came in. “What is it?”“My lord Logan is here to see you.” He announced with a nod and a bow that followed next. “What does he want?” I was forced to ask while the dumb guard shook his head, signalling to me how unsure and uncertain he was of what Logan had come to do in my room.“Let him in, then,” I urged the man who nodded. He walked out in seconds and when the door opened again, there was one of the many brothers I have
EMILIA POV Who does he think he is?Normally, I was supposed to place thousands of calls and messages to Tristan, even when I knew I had done nothing wrong in this case. My mind was made up, and there was no way I would stoop very low to make such a mistake—not after what Orion told me about him. My life seemed to have become better these days and there was my job in DE ROYALS, keeping me from too many thoughts. I should make new friends. Maybe not. The last time I checked, it was a friendship that led myself and Tristan into being in a relationship I believed would last. Now what? I sipped from the glass of juice in my hand, a grimace on her face.Suddenly, my phone rang. I jumped to my feet and rushed inside from the veranda where I was seated. Without hesitation, my hand touched one of the couches and there was my phone. It was a number I had never called, nor received a call from. In shock, I gazed at the screen of my phone as I contemplated whether or not to take the cal
ORION POV It was one of those days when the Alpha wanted to address the members after a brief meeting with us. All his sons were behind him while he headed out of the pack, to our next destination, the compound. “All hail the Alpha!” The guard at the gate of the Manor yelled, watching members who were around us, turn around and bow their heads. “Long live the Alpha.”Father nodded. He managed a smile on his countenance and when I turned around to check my brothers, I discovered that one of us was missing. “Wolves!” He took a seat on the throne that was dragged out of the hall, moping at the members one after the other. “Welcome to the gathering. You may sit on the floor if you want to.” He told the wolves who nodded, while some did as told.“As you all know,” he began. “I have called you here to let you know what is to happen next.” He mouthed, turning around and saying a word to the guard who stood beside him. The guard lifted his head and met my gaze before heading in my di
ORION POV Before I left the Pack, I picked up the card from the drawer where I kept it. After which I drove into the streets of New Orleans. The address given to me was a familiar one, and locating the house was not a hard task. In less than one hour, I arrived at the gate of the largely looking compound and my hand picked up my phone from the space where it was kept and I dialled the number. “I have arrived at your gate,” I announced to Emilia before ending the call, not caring to hear what she had to say. After a while of waiting, the gate opened. “Drive-in, sir.” The man at the gate urged. He was wearing a uniform and looked quite old.His words made me laugh. “No,” I shook my head. “I did not come to drive in. Besides, the woman I have come to see might not want that.”“I don't bite, Orion Ironclaw,” Emilia showed up at the gate. “Drive in already.” She urged with a smile that came alive on her face. What could I say at this point? If the woman who I came to see asked tha
TRISTAN POV Until now, she was yet to reach out to me. At this point, I didn't care much about it. My business in the meantime was meeting with one of the senators in New Orleans, while I delivered my goods to him. I headed out of the pack this morning, after recovering from the split headache that disturbed me the night before. My legs led me to my car with the box I held tightly so it was not jerked from my hand. “Tristan!” Someone called, causing me to turn around. Who else would it be if not for my twin? Now I managed a smile on my face, gripping the box even tighter. “What is it, Orion?” I asked the man who walked closer to me with obvious disdain on his countenance. “Where are you going?” He asked. “I need to meet with someone in the city, Orion,” I said, heading to my car. “Do you want something?” I asked, stopping in the front of my seat and meeting his gaze again. “Yes,” he mouthed. “No.” He said again and turned around. “I wanted you to drop me off somewhere in th
TRISTAN POV We drove out of the warehouse's space after putting on our masks and covering our identities. Into the street, we went, with the car whose glasses were tinted. The address was inputted in the map built with the car and we drove past streets, headed to the given address. Who knows? Today's meeting could end well or not. I wondered, watching the man on the wheel do a good job. Why wouldn't he? The last time I checked, I promised to cut off the head of whoever went against my order to implicate us. “Let me have his number,” I told the man who was seated next to me. “He must know of our arrival,” I mumbled and a phone was given to me. “There are many numbers here!” I cried, handing the phone back to the man. “Which one of them is to be called?”The young man handed the phone back to me. “The first two numbers are his, master,” he said and I nodded, dialing the first. “Please, drop a message.”I ended the call and dialed the second, hoping the call was taken. “Hello?”
