Rami’s POV

“Get her!”

I couldn’t stop running. My lungs burned, my legs screamed, but I just couldn’t stop. They were right behind me.

Three of them. Three men.

I didn’t know who they were — hell, I didn’t even know what they were. They looked human, but…

“Augh!”

I tripped on a branch and went face-first into the dirt. Pain shot through my body as I struggled to get up, but a hand grabbed my wrist, yanking me back.

“You bitch!” a deep, husky voice growled.

Then — smack — his hard slap cracked across my face, sending me tumbling backward. My vision blurred, and before I could recover, another arm snatched a fistful of my hair and dragged me across the forest floor.

I screamed in pain, thrashing violently, but he lifted me like I weighed nothing and threw me over his shoulder like a sack.

“Let go of me! I didn’t do anything! Please, let me go!” I cried out, my voice echoing into the empty trees. No one would hear. We were in the middle of nowhere, deep in the forest.

They had driven for hours — since the sun had started to set — and now the moon was high in the sky. We were far, far from the city.

Earlier, they had stopped to stretch and take a piss. I was tied up in the back seat, but they got too comfortable, not realizing I had been quietly working the ropes off my wrists.

When they weren’t looking, I made a run for it. I hadn’t even gotten far before a sharp, animalistic growl cut through the silence. One of them. It sounded like a beast, but it came from a human mouth. That’s when I knew. They weren’t human.

They chased me down fast, moving like predators. And now I was back in their grip.

“Put tape on her mouth. Use chains this time,” one of them barked, shoving me into the back seat.

Another ripped a piece of duct tape. When he leaned in to place it over my mouth, I jerked my head back and forth, refusing to give him the chance.

That pissed him off.

His hand shot to my neck, squeezing tightly.

“Don’t piss me off,” he sneered. “I’m not as patient as the others. I’ll kill you in a second.”

Then suddenly, his eyes… they changed. Right in front of me, his irises shifted from a dull brown to a glowing red, making my blood run cold.

I froze, too terrified to move. He pressed the tape over my mouth, then locked thick metal chains around my wrists and ankles.

Unlike the other two, who were loud, aggressive, and violent from the beginning — this one was quiet. He was always watching and obeying orders but said little to nothing. That’s why his warning scared me the most. I couldn’t tell what was going on in his head.

As he secured the chains around my ankles, I felt his hand linger for a moment too long.

He wasn’t staring at me as I stared at him. No, he was staring down at my legs, which made my skin crawl.

Then, slowly, his fingers began to trail up my exposed leg, and my breath caught in my throat.

I flinched, trying to shift away from his touch, but his hand tightened around my leg, holding it in place.

My eyes widened as his hand moved higher, gliding up my thigh so close to the edge of my skirt, sending a shiver down my spine.

I shook my head desperately, my breathing heavy through the tape. I could feel what he was about to do.

“Let’s move,” one of the others ordered, and just like that, he let go.

I sighed in relief, nearly choking on my own breath. But the fear didn’t leave.

Who knew what awaited me in whatever place they were taking me to?

At the end of the day, they were still all men, and I was stuck with them in the middle of nowhere.

Whatever awaited me wasn’t good. And if I didn’t figure a way out soon, I wasn’t going to get another chance.

We drove for hours again, deeper into the night. My eyes felt heavy, and no matter how hard I tried to stay awake, the exhaustion eventually won. I dozed off…

Only to be jolted awake by a sudden, violent shake.

“Shît, watch out!” one of the men yelled from the front seat as the van swerved.

The tires screeched, and the van tilted sideways. It lost control and stumbled down the hill. My body slammed against the metal walls of the van as we rolled, and then…

BAM!

The van crashed into something solid — maybe a tree — and everything went still.

My thoughts were still all over the place when the back door burst open, and I was yanked roughly to the ground. My knees scraped against the gravel, and I winced.

“You dumbass! I told you to slow the f*ck down!”

“Don’t start with me — she was distracting me and you know it!”

“She’s chained and gagged, you idiot! How the hell is that distracting?!”

Their voices blurred together as they argued, both of them limping, one clutching his side and the other bleeding from his forehead.

But then they paused, seeing a car pass by with its headlights shining bright.

It was clear they hadn’t expected to see a car driving in such a remote area.

So when the car stopped and the driver stepped out, they became defensive.

He didn’t look like them. He was tall, calm, and dressed in a tailored black suit.

I began to struggle, hoping to attract his attention. The men quickly moved to block my view, growling at the driver to leave.

But the driver calmly opened the passenger’s door, and another man stepped out.

He was also wearing a black suit, and the moment he started walking towards us, I noticed their snarls lowered to murmurs.

They were scared. But why? I didn’t care to answer that.

I saw this as my chance and began thrashing violently, tears flooding my eyes as I looked at the man in the suit with blonde hair and a cold yet calm expression.

Please.

He stared back at me for a moment too long before he stepped forward. When he got close enough, he peeled the tape from my mouth with one hand while the men watched.

I gasped, gulping down air, then immediately cried out.

“Please! Please help me! They kidnapped me — I don’t know who they are — I don’t want to go with them! Please don’t let them take me!”

The man’s lips curled into a small smile, and he gently patted my hair. Then he looked at the man who was holding me and said:

“Let her go.”

Remi PoVI froze as her lips crashed into mine, nibbling softly on my bottom lip. It would’ve been easy to push her away, but it happened so fast and out of nowhere that my brain was having a hard time keeping up.“Wow,” she whispered against my lips. “You taste really good. I can see why everyone’s obsessed with you.”That was supposed to be a compliment, but I didn’t take it as one.For some odd reason, my heart was racing. And just as she was about to pull back, I don’t know what came over me—but I suddenly held her in place and pulled her in for another kiss. She froze for a second, clearly not expecting me to kiss her back. But then she melted into it, even deepening the kiss. Her lips were soft and tasted sweet.I didn’t know why I did it. Maybe because, for a second, I hated the idea of being used again and just wanted to take back control. Or maybe… maybe it was because I could sense the deep sadness behind her eyes, and this was the only way I knew how to offer comfort.Whate

Remi POV“Actually… I wanted to apologize about what happened last time,” she said quietly. “We took things too far, but I swear I didn’t want to get involved.”I said nothing, just stared at her, trying to find a crack in her expression. But she kept her eyes on the ground.“Ember is very controlling. She forced us… even though most of us were against it,” she added. That was obviously no lie, but still—I wasn’t going to trust her.“I know you don’t believe me. I don’t expect you to. But I really am sorry. And to make it up to you…” she rushed over to the corner, pulled out a small box, then stretched it toward me. “Here,” she said.“What’s this?” I asked, eyeing it without taking it.“A gift,” she said simply. “I heard you can’t step out of the mansion premises, so I got you this while I was out. It’s nothing, really. Please accept it.” Her eyes were wide, giving me the most innocent, pleading look. What’s the worst that could happen? I thought, reaching out and taking the box.But

Remi POVHer question completely caught me off guard. I paused in my tracks.“Wh… what do you mean?” I asked, my voice quieter than I intended.Vivian stopped too. Her eyes moved over me from head to toe, like she was trying to figure something out. But why?“It’s just…” she began, sounding a bit unsure. “I’ve noticed that Luna Selene is… nice to you. Not that she’s completely evil or anything, but she never really pays attention to the other courtesans. And…”She hesitated.“…I’ve seen her leaving your room. At night.”My stomach clenched, and my fingers twisted at my sides. How was I supposed to respond to that?I thought they all knew — or at least had some idea — of what went on behind these closed doors. But even if they didn’t, how could I say it out loud?Oh, your Luna comes to my room every night because she’s an obsessed psycho who forces me into sex.Yeah. That’s not something you just say.Not even when it’s the truth.I sucked in my breath and looked away, pretending to fo

Remi POV“Silver kills werewolves?” I muttered, watching as the guards dragged Elias’s lifeless body across the floor, leaving a thick trail of blood behind. My hand was still trembling, remembering what I had just done.“Mhm,” Damon hummed lazily, then reached out and gently patted my hair. “You did good,” he said with that same wicked smile that sent a shiver down my spine. My gaze shifted, landing on Zanye. Then my hand dropped to his. That silver ring.Doesn’t that mean he isn’t a werewolf? I thought, staring a second longer, watching the way the silver caught the light on his finger. Why the hell would a werewolf wear silver? Before I could spiral further, Damon’s fingers curled gently under my chin, tilting my face toward him.“You’re thinking too much,” he said. “I just told you to return to your room.”I blinked up at him, my thoughts still caught somewhere between Elias’s blood and that damn silver ring, but I nodded anyway. He let go of my chin, and without wasting another s

Remi’s POVAfter the party was over and most of the guests had gone back inside, I stayed curled up on the cold floor. When Nikolai stepped forward to help me up, Damon waved his hand dismissively.“She can walk back on her own..”Even though my body ached all over, I took a deep breath and forced myself up, wincing in pain as I slid into the black dress.I glanced back at him as he casually fixed his pants.Disgust twisted in my gut. I cursed under my breath and turned away, walking back toward the mansion, ignoring the stares from the staff lining the hallway.Just as I was rounding the corner, a rough hand grabbed mine and yanked me aside.I gasped, stumbling back, and my back hit the wall hard. Before I could react, my eyes widened seeing it was one of the council members—the same one with silver hair. His eyes burned with lust as he stepped closer, unbuckling his pants like he’d done this a thousand times before.“Give me a quick head,” he said.I blinked, still trying to process

Remi POVI could only stare down at my feet as I was led out of the mansion. The sound of loud music and cheers filled the air, deep laughter mixing in like smoke. My steps became heavy, hesitant. Every movement felt forced. My breathing was shaky, like my own body was resisting what was about to happen.“There she is,” Damon’s voice rang out.The moment he spoke, the crowd quieted, their excitement sinking into a low hum of murmurs. Then I felt his cold hand wrap around my waist, pulling me tightly against him.“We all know there are a lot of restrictions that prevent us from entering the human world,” he began, like he was delivering a speech. Since my face was still covered with a veil, I kept my head down.“For peace, we’ve been trying to blend in with the humans,” Damon continued in a commanding tone. “But what happens… when a human enters our territory?”There was a long pause. Then a deep voice broke through the silence. “Wait—don’t tell me that’s a human?”“Can’t you smell it?
