Chapter 32: The Love Expression

I took a deep breath. Mating with Lisa at first was the last resort to get what I wanted: the successful mission of getting her and maintaining the peace treaty. However, all wasn’t as important as tending to Lisa.

I glanced at her. Her blush was still there, but her body trembled. I didn’t know if she said it out of courage or desperation. I wanted to find all eight men and took pleasure in torturing them until they would beg me for death.

Lisa changed my life, but it was expected. My mate would be the closest person to me. What affected her would affect me too. Her pain was mine. Her misery was also mine. I wanted to wipe away the fear and shame in her eyes.

So, I held her hands, kissing each while staring at her. She blushed again. She was still innocent apart from the terrible accident ten years ago. I took a deep breath. If only it had never happened. But then, I might have never met her as she would mate with someone else.
