Chapter 02

“You will go down to the city to find your Luna? Is that what you are telling us, Cole?”

Cole at this moment was standing on the platform, where five old councils of their packs are eyeing him in their respective seats. After the conversation, he had with Jacob, and after knowing how he will find his Luna, Cole decided to go down to the city to socialize with humans so he can find his mate.

“Yes, and I have decided to leave early tomorrow,” Cole answered as the four councils whispered to each other, while Pablo is still eyeing Cole and he sees the seriousness of the decision their alpha made.

“How about our territory? If you leave and the black wolves heard about that, they might attack here knowing that our alpha is not here.” One of the old woman council to Cole as he sees their dislike expression of them that makes Cole sigh heavily.

“I understand you’re concerned for our territory, they might attack here while I’m in the city, finding my mate in the prophecy who will give us my offspring to end the chaos which is a threat to our race of white wolves. But I already talked about this with other wolves who can guard our territory while I’m gone.” Cole explained.

“Why do you need to search for your mate outside our territory when we have women here that can be your Luna?” another old council tells his suggestion.

“Because there’s no one here in our packs who can be my Luna, no one here can’t conceive my seed, they will rather die,” Cole answered with a serious tone with his tone.

“How can you say that no one’s here can’t be your Luna?” Pablo asks Cole who looks in his direction.

“Jacob found the book of the prophecy of our ancestors, he read and studied what was written in that old book. It was written that I will have a reaction when my Luna was near me or approaching me, my Luna has a sweet scent of pheromones that only an alpha can smell, and that will attract me.”

“The book of the prophecy? How did Jacob have that book?” Pablo asks with curiosity written on his face.

“I was the one who found it, and give it to Jacob to study what it’s written. I found that book in my father’s treasure box, and now that I have an idea of how will I find my Luna, I will not waste this chance. I will make the prophecy happen to save the packs from the danger brought by those black wolves.” Cole said as he slightly bow his head before leaving the room of the councils.

Cole continuously walks as he arrives at his house to pack his things for his departure tomorrow, he first took his phone from his pocket and calls the one person who can help him when he arrives in the city. After two rings the person he was calling answered his call.

“This is Leo Dav—“

“I’ll be in the city tomorrow, I will temporarily live there and you need to help me,” Cole said as he interrupted the person he was talking to.

“Cole? Is this Cole Light Volkov?”

“Yeah, can you help me?”

“What on earth the alpha of the white wolves will do in the city temporarily? Is it safe for you to leave the packs?”

“No, but I need to, other wolves can guard the territory after I leave. You’re concerned about our packs that you decided to abandon and live like a human in the city?” Cole asks as he sits on his sofa crossing his legs and leaning his back.

“It’s not that I abandoned our packs, Cole, I just want to live peacefully without thinking about the threats of the black wolves. Most white wolves who don’t want to live in fear leave the forest to come to the city and live like humans, it might be a selfish desire but what can we do about it?”

“Then help me, that’s a thing you can do for our packs,” Cole said as he heard his old friend sigh on the phone.

“I’ll pick you up tomorrow, then tell me what your agenda for coming to the city is.”

“Okay.”

Cole put down his phone on the center table before standing and walking towards his room to prepare what he needs to bring. Cole somehow comes to the city but he didn’t stay long, he comes back immediately to the forest to avoid the attacks of the black wolves. This is the first time he will stay in the city until he finds his Luna and brought her to the forest to fulfill the prophecy.

WHEN THE morning came, Cole decided to live while the sun is still not shining. He take his things before storming out into his house when he suddenly stopped as he saw Irina standing in front of his house.

“Irina? What are you doing here ?”

“I heard about your decision to leave this forest to find your Luna, Why not me? I can be your Luna, I can conceive the baby that was mentioned in the prophe---“

“You’re not my fated mate, Irina.” Cole cut off what Irina will say to him when she runs to him and hugs him as if she doesn’t want him to leave.

“Then make me your fated mate, Cole, I won’t die, I promise to you that I am worthy to be your Luna. Please stay and take me, I’ll give my whole body to you.” Irina pleaded as she hugs Cole tightly.

Irina cried and beg for Cole, she utters repeated words not to leave and take her instead as his mate. Cole sigh before he slowly removed Irina’s embrace from her.

“I can’t take you as my mate, Irina, not just because you’re not my fated Luna, but because I considered you as my sister. I’m sorry, and don’t leave the area where black wolves can attack you.” Cole said as he tap Irina’s head before leaving.

As Cole leaves the forest, when he arrived at the end of it, he saw Leo leaning on his car looking at him when he saw his arrival.

“Why did you decide that I must fetch you at this dawn, Cole? You still didn’t change, you do immediately what you already have decided.” Leo commented as Cole walks towards him.

“I don’t want the black wolves to know that I leave the territory, let’s go.”

Cole walk until he enter Leo’s car who was shaking his head before entering and seat in the driver's seat.

“Now Mr. Alpha, while I am driving, can you tell me your reason why you need to stay in the city? Please explain that to me very well for me to understand.” Leo said as he turn on the engine of his car and start to drive leaving the forest of Arizona.

“I need to find my Luna.” Cole normally answered as Leo suddenly stepped the break to stop his car from moving, while shocked written on Leo’s face while turning his gaze to Cole.

“What?! Your Luna? So you’re telling me that the alpha of the white wolves who’s not interested in a relationship or in commitment, came down in the forest to find his Luna?!” Leo exclaimed in disbelief while staring at Cole who lean his back in his seat and close his eyes.

“Just drive Leo or I will kick you out in your own car.”
