Nyra's POV

I couldn't breathe as I stared into the darkness, the black wolf was smiling at me and baring its teeth.

Its enormous body stood motionless outside the shattered eastern gate, surrounded by hundreds of wolves that were growling and circling around us.

Moonlight reflected off its midnight-black fur. Its golden eyes never left mine not for a single second.
