LOGINAria Blackwood
The spark of recognition burned so bright it was blinding. My chest ached with the force of it, my wolf clawing at me, begging me to move toward him. My mate. My Alpha. Damien Storm. But as his eyes swept over me, cold and sharp as ice, I realized something was terribly wrong. There was no flicker of joy in his gaze. No warmth. No sign that his wolf was howling as mine was. He looked at me the way one might glance at a servant — barely worth the effort. And then he looked away. Selene whimpered inside me, confusion and agony tangled together. “Why doesn’t he—? He must feel it. He has to.” I couldn’t answer her. My throat had closed up, my head was aching, my heart was beating so fast with the force of the pull. can't he feel it? he has to feel it to. Maya leaned close to me whispering urgently, “Aria, you’re pale. What’s wrong?” I didn't notice when she came beside me looking very worried I opened my mouth, but no words came out. How could I explain? How could I tell her that the bond had lit inside me like wildfire, only for him to look at me with such cold indifference. I bowed to Alpha Damien and walked away with Maya going to sulk in a corner. --- The night stretched on in a blur. Toasts were made, laughter rang through the hall, but I felt trapped in a nightmare. My heart was beating too fast, my skin prickled with heat, and every time I heard Damien's voice , selene would whine and try to reach out to him. Yet he never looked at me again. Not until Serena decided to act. She swept across the room with her silver gown trailing behind her, her clique of admirers scattering out of her way. The smirk on her lips made my stomach drop. “Oh, Aria,” she cooed, her voice loud enough for those nearby to hear. "Haven't you found your mate yet?" She asked I bowed my head low in shame feeling eyes all over me “You’ve been staring at the Alpha all night. Don’t tell me you’ve convinced yourself he’s your mate.” she said again Heat flooded my cheeks. “That’s none of your—” Her laughter cut me off, cruel and shrill. “You? The Alpha’s mate? Please. You’re just a weak omega, Look at you. Do you really think the Moon Goddess would waste Alpha Damien on… this?” She gestured at me as if I were something foul. People started whispering, wolves were glancing between me and Alpha Damien at the front of the room. My chest tightened as humiliation scorched through me. Maya stepped forward her eyes flashing. “Shut your mouth, Serena, before I—” But Serena wasn’t afraid. If anything, her grin widened. Because she knew exactly what she was doing. “Go on, Aria,” she pressed, her voice sugary sweet. “Tell everyone. Tell us all who you think your mate is.” The room grew quiet, everyone was staring at me now, Even Damien’s icy gaze shifted in my direction, sharp and calculating and glaring My throat worked painfully. The bond screamed the truth inside me, clawing to be acknowledged. My wolf howled in agony, begging me to claim him. But before I could speak, Serena did it for me. “Oh, it’s obvious, isn’t it?” she said brightly. “She thinks it’s Alpha Damien.” Gasps rippled through the hall. My father stiffened where he stood. Elias took a step toward me, anger flashing in his eyes. Damien’s face remained unreadable,as if he was a statue. Until he finally moved. His steps were slow and deliberate, each one echoing against the floor as he approached. The crowd parted instinctively, bowing their heads in respect, even though they looked at the scene in front of them with curiosity. He stopped in front of me. His presence was suffocating up close, his scent was overwhelming —A mixture of cedar and storm air, sharp and intoxicating. My wolf whimpered, desperate to collapse at his feet. For one fleeting heartbeat, I let myself hope. Maybe he had been hiding it. Maybe he had felt the bond too, but he needed to maintain his Alpha composure. Maybe… “Is it true?” His voice was low, cold, slicing through my fragile hope. “Do you believe the Moon Goddess paired you with me?” I swallowed hard, trembling under his gaze. My lips parted, but no sound came out. Selene howled inside me, desperate: “Say yes! Claim him!” But before I could gather the courage, he spoke again. “Pathetic.” The word struck like a slap. My breath hitched, my chest ached as my eyes blurred with tears “You dare to imagine yourself my mate?” he continued, his voice cutting through the silence of the hall. “You? A weakling Beta’s daughter who can’t even control her temper in training? Do you think the Goddess would curse me with you?” Gasps and murmurs filled the room. My vision blurred with unshed tears, humiliation burning through my skin. “Alpha—” my father began, but Damien raised a hand, silencing him instantly. His eyes never left mine, cold and merciless. “The bond is nothing but a mistake,” he said flatly. “I reject you, Aria Blackwood. Here and now.” The words shattered me. The mate bond snapped, tearing through my soul like claws raking across raw flesh. Selene screamed, her wail echoing in my mind, a sound of pure grief and pain. My knees buckled, the room was spinning violently. “No!” I gasped, clutching my chest as agony ripped me apart from the inside, the pain was searing and overwhelming "No please!!!" I begged as I felt the last snap of the bond break, I howled with pain and cradled my heart which was shattered. But Damien didn’t flinch. He didn’t even move. He just stood there, tall and unyielding, watching me break. --- I crumpled to the floor, every nerve alight with pain. My wolf clawed against my skin, desperate to reach him, desperate to mend the bond that he had torn apart without hesitation. “Get up,” he ordered coldly. “You’re embarrassing yourself.” Laughter bubbled from Serena’s throat, high and victorious. “See? Even the Alpha knows your place.” Maya dropped to her knees beside me, wrapping her arms around my trembling body. “Aria, breathe! Please, breathe!” I gasped, choking on sobs, my vision swimming with tears. Every beat of my heart felt wrong now, broken, hollow. I forced myself to look up at him, even through the haze of pain. “Why?” My voice cracked, raw and desperate. “Why would you—?” His gaze was like ice. “Because you are nothing I want in a mate. Weak. Ordinary. Undeserving. The Goddess must have made a mistake.” His words sliced deeper than claws. Around us, whispers spread like wildfire. I saw the looks on the faces of the packmembers__Pity, Scorn and even curiosity. I wanted to disappear. I wanted to crawl into the floor and never be seen again. I couldn't breathe, the world was spinning from beneath me, I could only hear voices, ..All my life I've been bullied and compared to other girls, I was never good enough Even for my mate.. I wouldn’t let him destroy me. Not forever. I sucked in a ragged breath, forcing strength into my trembling voice. “You may reject me, Alpha,” I whispered, “but I will not be broken. The Moon Goddess makes no mistakes. Someday you’ll see that.” His expression didn’t change, but something flickered in his icy gaze — annoyance? Amusement? I couldn’t tell. “Take her away,” he ordered, dismissing me as though I were nothing more than a nuisance. Maya helped me to my feet, her arms strong around me, guiding me out of the ballroom. My father moved to follow, but Damien’s cold voice stopped him. “She is not your concern tonight, Beta Jonathan. Return to your duties.” My father froze, torn between duty and love, but he obeyed. My heart broke all over again, I saw my mother crying and clutching her chest. As Maya led me out into the cool night air, I staggered, clutching my chest. Selene whimpered weakly, her once-bright presence was dimming. “Aria,” Maya whispered, tears in her eyes. “I’m so sorry.” I lifted my gaze to the moon above, tears streaming down my face. “He can reject me,” I whispered to the night, my voice trembling but fierce. “But I won’t reject myself. One day… one day I’ll rise from this. Stronger. And he’ll regret ever casting me aside.” The Goddess was listening. I knew she was. And even though my heart lay in ruins, and my wolf cried in agony, I clung to that vow. Because it was all I had left. *****Aria's pov…Something was wrong.I could feel it in my bones.I stepped out of the house, my hand instinctively resting over my stomach. The courtyard was no longer calm.Warriors moved quickly, their voices low but tense, the aftermath of battle was still heavy in the air. The scent of blood lingered, sharp and metallic, mixing with the familiar smell of earth and pine. Why the sudden attack. Selene askedMy heart tightened, it had been so long since there was an attack like that.I saw Kaelen, he stood a few paces away, his posture rigid and his presence overwhelming he was standing In front of Elira and Nyra. The woman looked shaken, her hands trembling slightly while the girl was still calm looking silently. She gave me the creeps.Kaelen’s voice was low and controlled, but there was an edge beneath it. “You arrived yesterday and rogues attacked today. That is not coincidence.”Elira shook her head quickly. “We swear—we had nothing to do with it—”Nyra didn’t speak.Of course s
Caelum’s POV'sThe horn didn’t stop.It cut through the air again and again as a warning for everyone.People ran to the safe house and pups started crying.Rogue attack. My body moved before my mind caught up.The training ground erupted into motion—warriors grabbing their weapons, shifting mid-run, voices barking orders. Dust rose under pounding feet as the calm of the morning shattered into chaos.“East border!” someone shouted.“Multiple signatures!”I didn’t wait for more signals I ran.The world narrowed to one thing only,I had to check if Nyra was safe.My wolf surged beneath my skin, restless and eager for blood. The scent hit me halfway across the courtyard.Rotten smell of rogues and there were many.By the time I reached the outer clearing, the first wave had already breached the tree line. They came fast—snarling, wild-eyed, uncoordinated creatures but dangerous in numbers.I grabbed my sword but the first rogue lunged at me.I stepped in and my steel met his flesh. Caelum's pov…I was so glad mum allowed them to stay.I watched the girl, Nyra. She moved across the hall like she belonged here. She carried a cloth in one hand, wiping down the wooden panels with steady, practiced movements like she had some this many times before. I pushed away from the railing and walked toward her.She didn’t look up not even when my footsteps stopped a few feet away.“Did you sleep well?,” I asked her Nothing. She just kept cleaning. The cloth moved in slow, even strokes, she acted like I wasn’t there.I exhaled lightly.“Most people take a day to rest after nearly getting killed.”Still nothing not even a glance.I frowned slightly.“Nyra.”That got a reaction.Barely.Her hand paused for a second then she continued.“I just wanted to check if you’re alright,” I added.Silence.I crossed my arms.“You know, where I come from, people usually say thank you when someone saves their life.”That did it.She stopped and slowly turned to me.Her eyes met mine and sh
Aria's pov….I was so hungryThat was what kept me awake.I shifted slowly in bed, one hand instinctively resting over my stomach. The room was still dim, early morning light just beginning to seep through the curtains. Beside me, Kaelen was still sleeping, his breathing deep and even. For a moment, I simply watched him.He looked much happier and still young as ever.A faint kick pressed against my palm.I smiled.“Alright,” I whispered softly. “I hear you.”I kissed Kaelen's forehead and carefully slipped out of bed, making sure not to wake him. The floor was cool beneath my feet as I wrapped a light robe around myself and stepped out into the hallway. The house was quiet which was expected.I moved slowly down the stairs,The faint scent of food drifted upward, drawing me toward the kitchen.Good.Someone was cooking. At least I wasn’t imagining the hunger. But as I stepped into the doorway i froze. Two figures sat at the table eating. For a split second, my mind didn’t register wh
Caelum's pov…Rogue hunting with uncle Kael was my favorite activity. The forest always felt different at night and it made me feel alive.I moved through the forest with ease, my senses stretched wide, catching every shift in the wind, every snap of a twig, every distant movement that didn’t belong here.Beside me, Uncle Kael walked in silence. He didn’t need to speak.Neither did I.This was how we hunted.“You’re thinking too loudly,” he said after a while.I exhaled softly. “I’m not thinking. I’m observing.”He snorted. “Same thing.”I ignored that, my gaze sweeping the trees ahead. The rogue scent was faint—but it was there. That same rotten smell.“They passed through here,” I said quietly.Kael crouched slightly, his fingers brushing against the soil. “Not long ago.”“Two?”He shook his head. “More.”My jaw tightened.Good.I preferred it that way.More targets.More chances to prove myself. We moved again, faster now.The deeper we went, the stronger the scent became—thick and
Eighteen years later....Aria's pov…..Ouch!!I groaned as I hit my leg on a stone. The wind blew my hair on my face and I chuckled.Everything has changes now and I like it.I rested my hand over my stomach, smiling faintly.“You feel it too, don’t you?” I murmured.A soft kick answered me.I laughed quietly.“I’ll take that as a yes.”I moved as slowly as my huge belly would allow me.The path ahead stretched through the forest, familiar and comforting. Sunlight filtered through the tall trees. Birds chirped in the distance, and somewhere nearby, water trickled softly over stone.Peace.Real peace.Sometimes, it still felt unreal. There had been a time when I thought I would never have this, never have quiet mornings or even laughter. Never have a future that didn’t feel like it would shatter at any moment. But here I was.Alive and carrying new life.My fingers pressed a little more firmly against my belly, warmth blooming in my chest.“We made it,” I whispered.A breeze swept pa
