Chapter 42

With a loud growl, I walked back into the bathroom.

It was three times the size of the one I had shared with the girls. There was a huge bathtub on one side with granite countertops and marble floors.

I hoped into the shower, keeping the temperature of the water as hot as I could endure.

The scalding water hit my skin mercilessly but I loved the burning sensation as I felt the hangover letting up and my tensed muscles loosening.

It was also enough to distract me from the mess that was going on in my life.

As a child, I had badly wished to have a fairytale love, one where I found my mate.

As I aged and wolfed out and didn't find my mate, I took my relationship with Jason even more seriously.

We lived each other and we're willing to get married and mark each other as mates and if down the line, one of us later found our fated mate, we would reject them.

That was the plan.

But in the blink of an eye, everything went down the drain.
