“Me?” I pointed at my chest.

Don't blame me, but this came as a surprise because I knew I hadn't done as much as so many other people. How was it possible that I had been chosen?

Jason gave me a pointed look that said he thought I was an idiot before looking away.

“Get your things and meet me outside in five,” he said without sparing me another glance and walked out with the lady who had previously introduced herself as Clara.

I rolled my eyes at his snobbish behavior and vaguely wondered if he had always been that way.

Well, I didn't mind his behavior as long as I would be getting out of here.

Speaking of which, I turned around to meet scornful glares and some girls had their hands over their mouths as they giggled behind them.

“What's funny?” I snapped.

My reaction must have surprised them because more than a couple of gasps were heard.

“She really back-talks now,” one girl whispered to the other girl beside her.

Well, duh.
