After making Lilith drink the potion that Patricia had asked Blaze to give her, they journeyed back home.
He could already feel a change in Lilith’s scent. Whatever that potion was, it would conceal her scent for a week before she would have to drink another one.
Dusk was already falling when they had reached Patricia’s house. If they didn’t take any break, they would reach the pack before dawn.
But, it was night-time and the forests which they had to cross back over, were darker at night.
The darkness wasn’t a problem for Blaze but Lilith could see nothing at all.
She felt completely blinded.
She nearly shit her pants when she felt his grip on her hand loosening. “Don’t let go of my hand.” There was a hint of a whine in Lilith’s voice as she tightened her fingers around his hand.
“Just give me a second.” Blaze uttered as he waited for her to unclasp her fingers from his hand
“I know you’re hiding behind those trees. Come out!” Blaze egged them to come out from their hiding spots.Lilith turned her head to look in every direction. She didn’t know from where they would appear.Loosening her hold around Blaze, she moved to step back on her feet. But, Blaze wouldn’t let her.His arms hardened around her back. He adjusted his hold on her butt to stop her from pulling away.Lilith breathed out slowly when she noticed the faraway look on his face.He was focusing on the danger looming around them. Her breath hitched when she felt his fingernails elongating into claws. The sharpness of them brushing against her back and butt cheek. With some struggling, she managed to stand on her feet all while Blaze maintained that tight grip around her.Well, she wasn’t looking forward to having her butt punctured by those claws. All of a sudden, branches broke and crack
Lilith couldn't tell how long she slept. She woke up in Blaze's bed.The clock read 11:37 am, but she couldn't recall the time when she fell asleep. All she knew is that she fell asleep in Blaze's arms while he carried her back home. It had to have been at least 16 hours. However long it was, it was much needed. She was exhausted. Now that she was awake, she did feel better... physically at least. The thoughts about what could have possibly happen yesterday still haunted her. She didn't have enough time to think it through after that fight. She shivered as a tremor traveled up her spine. Blaze saved her life yet again. He protected her and kept her safe. Not even a single scratch could get to her with Blaze standing in front of her as a shield. Some noises coming from the bathroom pulled her out of her trance. The water was running. There was a tray of food waiting for her on the coffee table. It held some cookies and a
The day they’ve been both dreading was finally here.It was the night of the annual ball.Blaze eyed himself in the mirror as he tried to tuck away the hair that kept falling onto his forehead.Eventually, he used some gel to somehow make it look decent, decent enough where he didn’t feel the need to run his fingers through it again in hopes of getting a better result. If Lilith hadn’t helped him choose his clothes, his outfit would have been a mess just like his hair was.He wasn’t motivated at all into putting any effort for tonight. He actually wasn’t even looking forward to it.Every second that ticked by, the ball seemed less and less appealing to him.If it wasn’t for the fact that his parents had ordered him to attend it, he might just not have gone at all.He took a step back, his eyes trailing over his reflection in the mirror. She had a good fashion sense. And well&hel
The annual ball was already in full swing by the time Blaze got there. It didn’t take him long to reach there with his evolved speed. This time, it has been organized by the Midnight pack but only high ranked wolves could attend it with the servers and waiters being all human. This was done just so their kind could control their wolves if anything went wrong. That was also one of the reasons why only high-ranked wolves could attend this event. The place was packed with people. The scent of several kinds of food and alcohol pervaded the air, weirdly mixing with the scents of every wolf present here. That right there, worked well for him.He forced his wolf to withdraw to the back of his mind to cut off all of his heightened senses. The scents mixing all together made him nauseous to the point where he felt a sharp pinching pain in his head.He dived right into the crowd, walking through it to get his scent all mixed up.Th
There was no hesitation in Blaze. The second he reached his bedroom door he nearly threw it open, eyes ready to find Lilith in his bed like she had said. But, he caught her first just a few feet from the door, his appearance causing her to freeze midstep.Lilith's eyes widened as they caught sight of Blaze, her arms were crossed tightly across her chest as if she was holding herself. Blaze felt uncertainty rolling off of her with her heartbeat being just slightly faster than usual. Blaze stood upright before stepping inside, closing the door behind him. Lilith eyed him warily as he did, especially taking in the look on his face and his dishevelled hair. He must have ran his hand through his hair quite a couple of times for it to be this messy. Blaze couldn't mask his feelings well. For the first time in his life, he couldn't pull that blank look he'd always wear around to hide his emotions. Lilith knew something was up. She checked the time. It
Lilith woke up feeling starved. She realized that due to the stress of the annual ball, she hadn’t eaten anything yesterday. And starving wasn’t something any part of her wanted to be feeling again. So, she idly snacked on this small bowl of assorted fruits and nuts which Katherine got her while waiting for Blaze who had disappeared into his closet a while ago after he’d brushed his teeth. She had woken up before him, feeling fresh and ready to start the day.She had to admit though that last night wasn’t the way she’d imagined it to go.While he was gone, all sort of scenarios cropped up in her mind. It was so stressful that she had found herself walking around in his room, unable to sit still for long.Yet, there was a part of her which believed in Blaze. And, that part of her was stronger than the little demons fighting to show her otherwise in her mind. She was caught by surprise when she saw him comi
Lilith tried to stay monotone. Well, that was the case until Trevor tripped over his own legs while walking further inside the house. She had to force herself to stifle a laugh. She had never seen a werewolf trip before. Blaze luckily grabbed the back of his shirt and prevented him from completely falling. She stole a glance at Blaze. He had his lips pursed out as if he had something going on in his mind. Seeing the deep folds that had appeared in the middle of his eyebrows, she figured it was probably about yet another person learning about her being here. The furious lines between his brows were short-lived when he felt her stare on him. Meeting her eyes, he smiled reassuringly. ~~~~~~~~~“That’s why you’ve been acting so weird lately… it all started after the mating season.” Trevor stated, his words coming out one after another but slowly as if he was thinking back to Blaze’s strange behavior for the past few weeks. Blaze held Lilith’s hand, his thumb running circles around
Lilith's eyes widened in surprise once she caught sight of the faint love bite right beside Blaze's mark on her neck in her reflection on the mirror."Blaze," her voice squeaked out, nothing coming out of her mouth. Clearing her throat before trying again, she yelled out his name. This time, her voice came out sounding perfectly fine. Blaze came rushing inside her room, eyes alarmingly searching through the room for her. He calmed down slightly as he found her standing in front of the mirror."What's wrong?" He asked her while quickly closing the short distance between them to check on her."When did you do this?" She asked him, her voice low and dispirited as she pointed at the love bite. She never felt him kissing her on the neck to the point where she would get that red mark. "Oh that?" Blaze breathed out with a snicker. One which didn't sound amusing to Lilith at all. "Why did you do that? What would Katherine think?" She complained."Nothing! Just that we made love." He shr
