Elora's POV

Zack was down, eyes closed, his hair a mess of sand and blood.

He was still breathing, but he was messed up and badly wounded.

My stick was pointed at a critical point of his neck. If this was an actual fight and I had a blade, today would be the end of Zack.

What baffled me the most was what happened during the fight.

When Zack struck me the second time and my eyes sizzled with warmth, it was as if my body acted of its own accord.

All I had to do was to lean into the moves.
