DARRAGH'S POV

Sara's fingers laced through mine, warm yet trembling with an unspoken urgency. Her pulse thrummed against my skin as she guided me across the balcony. Omegas parted before us like a reluctant sea, their conversations dying to hushed whispers. Eyes tracked our movement—some curious, others wary—as we pushed through the crowd.

The weight of their stares pressed against my back until Sara pulled me into her room, slamming the door shut with enough force to rattle the hinges. The sudden silence felt thick, almost suffocating.

"Why would you do that?" Her voice was barely above a whisper, yet each word carried the weight of cracking ice. She stood with her back against the door, as if barricading us from the world outside.

I leaned against the opposite wall, crossing my arms across my chest. The defensive posture came naturally. "Because his death is fishy, and he deserves justice."

"No." She pushed away from the door, closing the distance between us until I could see the fl

SARA’S POVThe hallway was empty when I reached grandfather's quarters. Yellow tape crisscrossed the doorway like some kind of macabre gift wrapping. "DO NOT CROSS" screamed at me in bold black letters.I looked both ways before ducking under it.The room still smelled like him—peppermint and spite. My stomach turned. I needed to be quick. The sentinels would be making rounds soon."Where did you hide it, you old bastard?" I whispered, running my fingers along the edge of his desk. The grimoire was all that mattered now. My maternal family's magic, passed down through generations until it reached my mother, and then me. Grandfather had taken it when he banished her. Hidden it away like everything else that gave me power.I pulled open his desk drawers one by one. Nothing but papers, ink, and trinkets. I moved to the bookshelf next, scanning titles, checking behind rows for hidden compartments.Still nothing. My fingers trembled as I reached into my pocket, pulling out the small vial o

EWAN’S POVMy screams echoed against stone walls. Darkness pressed in from all sides, broken only by the faint glow of candlelight that cast Mother's face in sinister shadows. Her hands, usually so gentle when guests were present, gripped my jaw with bruising force."Open," she commanded, her voice cold as winter steel.I clamped my mouth shut, tears streaming down my face. The bitter scent of the herbs made my stomach heave."You want to be strong, don't you?" Her fingers dug deeper. "You want to make your father and me proud?"Behind her, Ronan stood with wide eyes, his own lips stained green from the concoction she'd already forced down his throat. His hand trembled at his side, fingers opening and closing as if he wanted to reach for me."Look at your brother," Mother hissed. "Be brave like him."When I still refused, she pinched my nose shut. I fought, thrashing against her hold until my lungs burned for air. The moment my mouth opened in a desperate gasp, she poured the foul liq

CIARA'S POVWe walked to the receiving chamber, my heart beating faster with each step. I kept picturing Sarah's face—not as I'd last seen her, clueless and soft on that final night, but as she'd been in our academy days: bright-eyed and fierce. The doors swung open, and there she was.Sarah Morgan stood beside her mother, hair neatly pulled back into a perfect braid. She wore a simple dress, dark blue and modest, nothing like the bold colors she'd favored in my memories. Her posture was rigid, hands folded neatly in front of her."Luna Jade," Sarah's mother stepped forward with a practiced smile. "So lovely to see you again."My mother returned the greeting warmly. "Maggie, it's been too long."I barely heard them. My eyes were fixed on Sarah. She looked the same but different. Her face held the same features but lacked the confidence I remembered. Her eyes darted around the room, never settling on one spot for long.Something tugged inside me—a mixture of joy and sorrow. This wasn't

CIARA'S POVThe door to the healer's chambers burst open. Mother and Father rushed in, their faces tight with worry that melted into relief when they saw me."Ciara!" Father's voice boomed through the small room. "What is wrong with you? Do you know how worried we've been since yesterday?"I wiped at my tears, but more replaced them. The blue glow from my hands dimmed, but didn't vanish completely. The healer moved between us. "Alpha Cormac, Luna Jade," she said, her tone respectful but firm. "Your daughter has fully awakened as a healer."Father waved his hand dismissively. "That is besides the point." His eyes fixed on me, softening slightly. "You're acting so strange, sweetheart.""Even your mother agrees," he added, glancing at Mother who nodded, her eyes never leaving my face. "Acting like a wild child, destroying properties and ghosting us... It is not you, Caira."Father's jaw tightened. "Is it because of that boy? Bastien's son?"I shook my head. "Darragh is a good person." My

DARRAGH'S POVI lay on the floor, my body broken and bloodied, watching my father's limp form. His chest rose and fell in shallow bursts. Still alive. My mind struggled to process what had just happened. How Sara had seemingly stopped him with nothing but an outstretched hand. The room spun around me. Blood pooled beneath my cheek, warm and sticky. Every breath sent daggers of pain through my ribs."We need to get him to the healer!" my mother screamed, her voice cracking. "Now!"Eamon snapped out of his frozen state and rushed toward my father. He scooped him up like he weighed nothing, cradling his Alpha's body against his chest."What about Darragh?" Sara asked, kneeling beside me. Her fingers hovered over my face, not quite touching the swollen mess it had become."He'll heal," my mother said, her tone flat. She wiped blood from her own temple with the back of her hand. "He's young. Strong."I wanted to laugh, but my broken ribs wouldn't let me. Always the loyal mate, even after h

BRIGID'S POVThe night bled into dawn. Shadows retreated from the room as pale blue light filtered through half-drawn curtains. My joints had stiffened from sitting motionless for hours and even when my chomped hand has regenerated, I still felt a dull pain where I had been diced. Across from me, Riona's face remained a marble mask, her eyes fixed on some invisible point beyond my shoulder. The silence hummed between us, thick and suffocating. My fingers twitched toward the gun hidden beneath the cushion. A precaution. A gamble. If it got bad again, I could shoot her. It would work, right? Could a witch stop a bullet with her magic?I wanted to convince myself that my grit was the reason I was still alive but I knew damn well the only reason I still drew breath was because of the threat I made about Saraphina."So," Riona's voice cracked with disuse, "you have another witch now."I kept my breathing steady. "The services of witches are expensive."A sound escaped her. It sounded sharp
