Calla’s POV
I was now thrown out of bright wood pack, I wandered back into the forest in a bid to find a safe place to stay, for days I walked. I couldn’t go back to my parents and I sure am not letting myself get mistreated again.
I continued walking as it got darker, I decided I was going to rest for a while as I sought refuge in one of the big oak tree.
What was happening?
Why was he there? Why was he wearing a hood and why was he standing over me? His shadow hovering over me and he had also refused to say a word. Why did he glare at me so viciously?I could only sit there motionless as I stared at the figure in front of me, I could smell him and so it was easy for me to tell that he was also a wolf, a strong one too because I could see his red eyes staring at me and almost cutting through me like claws and daggers.
He soon turned towards me and I shook, I recognized him and fear gripped me as I took another glance at him. He did nothing to hide his hatred as he approached me with the torch he held in his hand.
“I knew I recognized you from somewhere Princess Calla.” He said my name and I felt chills down my spine, he was one of our rivals.
My father had punished and humiliated them and it looked like I was on their territory, that was a blessing to them as he howled to call the rest of his packs and they all scampered towards me.
I held my chest in fear as I watched them all approach and soon I was surrounded, not giving me a chance to explain myself, one of them tugged at my hair and pulled me up with it.
“Let’s see what the Alpha king would do by the time we’re done with his precious princess.” One of them growled and the rest laughed.
My mouth opened and I’d wanted to tell them that I was no longer a princess but whatever I’d wanted to say got caught up in my throat as I felt a slap across my face.
My vision went blurry immediately and I fell back down as they all walked towards me and hovered over me, one of them yanked me up and lifted me as they all made their way to their pack.
I’d thought my horrible life was over but it was as though it had just started, I was stripped naked and they took the anger they felt for my father out on me as they whipped me without mercy.
“Can I just die now, I am tired of having to live like this.” I whispered but it was loud enough for them to her me as they all laughed again, mocking me.
“The little princess wants to die.” One of them mocked as he stood to spit on me.
“You haven’t really gotten any taste of the punishment we had planned for you and you’re already wishing for death? Weak—“
The door swung open as some men barged in, they’d gotten into a rift but the intruders had won. One of them saw me and had loosened the rope I was tied up with, placing me on his shoulder I had no idea where he was talking me to.
We walked into a room and I was laid down, I looked around and although I was scared, everything was scary but they also seemed nice, I looked ahead of me to find someone I guess is the Alpha seated on the high seat just up ahead.
I felt the urge to bow my head down and not look into his eyes, his Alpha pheromones were really strong and hard to ignore but I also felt something else.
A sense of excitement as my wolf jumped around, I could feel her happiness and my body tingled as I lifted my head to steal another glance at the Alpha.
‘Mate! Mate! Mate!’ She sung heartily and I could feel the mate pull, one I’d ignored and shove at the back of my mind.
I was not going to give in to another mate pull only for me to be disgraced and humiliated once again. I thought about Axel and the hatred I had for him grew even stronger, I vowed I was going to have my revenge on him.
“What is your name?” He asked and I’d told him, I was expecting him to say something about the mate pull but he was more interested in me than that.
“So, I felt—“
“I reject you.” I let out and the confused murmurs of everyone present filled the room. I had no idea what he was about to say but I’d thought it was going to be about the pull we both felt.
“I would rather you torture me till I breath my last and every life I have in me drops but I will not agree to be mated to an Alpha that only thinks about himself and cares about what I have to offer.” I continued even though I knew I had nothing more to offer at this point.
I was just tired, the rejection I’d faced at bright wood was one I don’t ever want to face again and before the Alpha king would think he could act on it, I’d better set him straight.
I lifted my head to see him staring at me in confusion and also amusement but I didn’t care, I wasn’t done with what I had to say.
“So, I, Calla Spencer reject you, whoever you might be as my mate. I do not ever want to be mated to you.” I declared and my wolf calmed, it was as though she was also surprised by what I’d just said.
His mouth opened as if he’d wanted to say something but they closed shut at once as he ordered that the room be silent.
“When does my punishment for rejecting you begins?” I asked, although I had no idea how much more punishment I could take, all I knew was I wasn’t going to put myself through another rejection.
“What do you think your punishment for rejecting me should be, Miss Calla Spencer?”
I just stood there motionless and completely adamant. I could still hear the whispers and incoherent talks from around me.
Then his question came again, this time drawn out, word for word.
“What do you think your punishment for rejecting me should be, Miss Calla Spencer?”
“I wouldn't mind. Do your worst.” I blurted out. At that point, I didn't give a damn about what was going to happen, I have seen the worst in the hands of Axel.
Hell broke loose when the people in the room heard my rude answer to their Alpha. They wanted to tear me apart at that instant.
“Ungrateful bastard. Just kill her!!” Someone bellowed from amongst the people. The others echoed and began to move towards me.
“Stop! All of you!” The Alpha voice stopped them in their tracks, just before they harm me. He rose from his throne and moved towards me.
“I imagine the most terrible ways to deal with you but it can wait.” His aura suffocated me, I knew deep down that he wasn't just joking, he meant every word.
“Maids!” He called out. Several young ladies ran over and bowed gracefully before him.
“Take care of her. Make her ready for dinner this night.” He said, looking me straight in the eyes. I saw a strange glint flash in his eyes, uncertainty, and danger.
Lucian's POVThe air in the medical center felt heavy with anticipation as I awaited Dr. Eira's update on Calla's condition.
