Chapter 4

It had been a week since the incident with Sofia and Ellie had a theory, but she needed to confirm it, but... before she could do that, she needed the help of her annoying brother.

She was currently visiting Jasmine and Sofia, her brother was at the pack house and soon he would be picking her up to take her home.

"Um...Jason are you busy?" She mind linked her brother.

"Not really...Dad is going over the responsibilities of being an Alpha!" Jason replied, mentally sending an image of him rolling his eyes.

Laughing at that image, Ellie asked, "Can you do me a favor?"

"It depends, what do you need and what is it going to cost me?"

"Argh...nothing serious, I just need you to convince Dad to pick me up today." She linked.

"And...why should I do that? What are you up to Sis?" Jason asked.

"Trust me, I've got a theory and I need to test it out! Just send Dad over, please." She responded.

"Fine, but you owe me and this better be good. I was looking forward in seeing Sofia." Jason replied back grumpily, shutting down their mind link.

Ellie was excited, soon her theory would be a reality and she hoped that what she was thinking would become a reality and their family would be complete.

Later, the doorbell rang.

Ellie ran quickly to the door, knowing that her father was on the other side. Holding Sofia in her arms, she opened the door and there stood her Dad.

Zane was not in a happy mood, all week his wolf had been pacing, driving him insane and now Jason asked him to pick up Ellie from her friend's house. Not that he didn't mind, but he had a pounding headache and all he wanted to do was rest for a bit. But...here he was, knocking on a stranger's door, picking up his daughter, doing his fatherly duty.

Turning around and looking at the fairly quiet neighborhood, he noted that it was a decent area to grow a family. Hearing the door open, he turned around and was pleasantly surprised, when he saw Ellie and Sofia.

"Hello Ellie and little Sofia." Moving forward to swipe a finger under Sofia's chin, happy to hear her giggle, he had missed the little one this past week.

"Hi Dad." Ellie replied, happy to see the stress leave her father's face. He hadn't been in a great mood ever since Sofia had left the pack house and now it was to phase two too test her theory, "Why don't you come in. Jasmine is in the kitchen, busy cleaning up. I'm sure you wouldn't mind meeting her." Ellie asked innocently.

Zane wasn't going to complain, seeing Sofia, his wolf was calm. Taking the opportunity he took Sofia into his arms and followed Ellie towards the kitchen.

Only to stop short in the doorway, he was instantly struck by the smell of peaches and cream, that could only mean one thing....
