JASMINE

Mate?

How is that possible? So soon?

Daisy told me it takes time to find your mate, and when you do, they would love you and protect you making all the waiting worth it.

I look back at the Alpha before me. He is incredibly handsome and is mine to love. His cold angry eyes are like a bucket of cold water on my head.

He's not excited. Heck I don't even feel the bond so I don't see where his excitement should come from. I must have suppressed my wolf far too long.

A sharp pain brings me back from my thoughts, some stupid wolf who was untying me pulled on my hurt shoulder. He immediately apologizes to his alpha.

Ha! Like he is the one who felt the pain, Then again I'm their prisoner.

“I’ll handle this. We’ll get her medical attention. You need to step away, before it gets worse.” says the wolf shifter who strutted in with a hospital cart filled with torture devices promising me pain.

My mate does waste a second before walking out. My wolf whimpers, I know she feels the connection to his wolf, but again the sun-moon flower tea seems to work wonders even on a spiritual level.

I was helped up from the chair, as much as I don't want to get their hands on me ,I was too weak to walk on my own.

As I was taken out of the cell, I looked at the guards and saw a familiar face, this fucking wolf did this to me and bragged to his peers. Then it occurred to me, he never talked about Sloane.

" Where's Sloane" I asked.

" Who?" My captor asked , fear lacing his voice.

Maybe it's because he heard his alpha recognize me as his mate or I was too concussed.

" The girl that was with me when you attacked me" I say getting annoyed, there were only two of us in my apartment.

" You mean the wolf less Omega?"

Wolfless Omega?

"No! Sloane's a human!" I say my voice coming out high pitched.

" No, there were no humans with you ma'am, but if it helps, I brought the omega along, she's in the room opposite" he says.

I try to run towards the room he pointed, but fatigue weights down on me, the wolf helping me, holds me tighter to steady me.

" Bring her out, well take her to the infirmary Incase of injuries" says the wolf who seems to be a friend to my mate.

" Thank you...." I draw out trying to know his name, I can't always call him Mr psycho in my head.

" Xavier Malvore, second in command under Alpha Lucien Malvore".

Lucien, so that's the name of my mate, my wolf softly purrs as I repeat his name.

" What's taking so so long" Xavier snaps at the guards who sluggishly fumbles with the key to the door.

He's hesitating.

My God! What has he done to her.

My answer came with the thick scent of blood as the cell door is opened. There she was, my best friend almost lifeless on the cold floor, blood pooling on the floor. If not for the faint raising and falling of her chest, I wouldn't be able to tell if she is alive.

My wolf thrashes in my chest, growling in anger at the sight of Sloane's condition, this is the most active she has been since I began taking the tea.

I see Xavier stumble into the cell, he crouches down and caresses her pale cheeks, eyebrows and slowly brushes her hair behind her ears.

She is still wearing her black dress, but unfortunately, her dress was torn in some ambiguous places nearly exposing her to the eyes of every male shifter here.

I see some bruises around her body, it's obvious for all to see, she was almost assaulted but instead chose to fight her attacker. Her attacker had been so vicious to stab his claws into her stomach.

I turned my eyes to my captor who was shaking like a sieve. Everyone got the gist from the crime scene and turned to the culprit. To my surprise they were all angry, like this is unacceptable to them.

"Mark" Xavier says coldly, devoid of any emotions.

Turning back to the cell, I see that he was walking out of the cell, his face expressionless, his claws growing out of his finger tips, hairs sprouting from his skin, and lastly his eyes, light golden eyes.

His wolf is at the surface, and is in control.

Alpha wolf, although not as dominant as my mate, there's no denying that he is an alpha wolf shifter.

" How dare you touch my mate!"

He roars out angrily , shifting into his massive wolf form and lunging at mark. Mark whimpers and shifts into his smaller wolf form, defending himself.

Xavier's wolf is a massive five foot nine Alpha with brown fur while mark was a grey wolf, five foot at best. He is big for a gamma wolf. But what is a gamma wolf before an Alpha wolf. An Alpha wolf who has lost all reasoning to begin with.

Chaos erupts, the other wolves try to separate them only to be on the receiving end of his wrath. I hear some muttering about calling the alpha, as for me, I'm just seething with anger.

Xavier called himself Sloane's mate, but how can he just fight and forget that his actual mate is bleeding to death.

Is he worthy

" ENOUGH!" I growled out angrily, my wolf pushing to the surface.

Xavier and mark pause fighting in a way that would've been comical if not for the situation at hand.

" STOP FIGHTING AND TAKE HER TO THE INFIRMARY, NOW!" I commanded using my long lost alpha voice.

Xavier moves from the battered and bruised body of mark's wolf form and walks passed me and into the cold cell that housed Sloane. While passing me I see defiance in his eyes.

I'm not his Alpha.

A guard drops a black hoodie and slacks. We turned around to give him privacy, the sound of bones cracking and muffled grunts of pain came from the room.

Soon a shirtless Xavier came out carrying Sloane. She had the hoodie one, covering her scrap of a dress. Xavier walks towards the stairs waiting for no one.

I try to follow, but the world tilts sideways, exhaustion from my wolf coming to the surface crashes on me, I barely recognize what's going.

Strong arms cradled me, holding me to a strong chest. The delicious smell alert me of who is holding me.

My destined lover.

My mate.

JASMINE " Monster" Vivian whispers in terror. " Just following my family's footsteps" I whisper back, knowing that deep down that Lucien's comments of me being like my biological father really got me. " Jas that's enough " Sloane say in a low tone. I'm very sure she's about to lose her breakfast, and if I do more, she would lose last night's dinner and won't have an appetite for lunch. " You three are to kneel here till 10pm, or till Lucien comes and release you. I've been told that my Alpha voice is stronger than most Alphas" I say. I look at Brittany whose blood Is already pooling on the ground, there is no good spot on her face, and her nails are still digging in deeper. " That's Enough Brittany" Brittany's hand fell in exhaustion, her body shaking from the pain that she's currently going through. The pain that Sloane would have gone through if I didn't do this. " Look at what you did to yourself" I tutted, now sounding like a villainess. "Maybe if you didn't have eyes m

JASMINE " Why aren't you speaking?" I ask. Silence settling in the cafeteria. The girls looked gob smacked like this was the first time anyone has ever spoken to them that way." You waltz to my table like the whole world owes you money for even being alive and you confront me of finding my mate... Yet you don't have the decency to introduce yourself" I continue." Preach!" I try to hold in my laughter as someone shouts from the audience. The blonde haired girl looks at the Audience, trying to find the person who said that." Blondie, my eyes are here!"She looks back at me, indignant. At what? The fact that I stood up to them?I have been through a lot in house Malvore and I am not going to take this disrespect." How dare you speak to us that way, do you know who we are" Blondie screeches." No I don't!..... Why don't you introduce yourself, instead of screaming here like a shrew"" Period!" Sloane chimes in." Shut up half-ling " the baby faced twin spat out in disgust." Not in

  • The Alpha's Claim    CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO: CONFRONTATION

JASMINE The pack house was buzzing with late morning chatter. The scent of grilled meat and fresh bread drifted from the kitchen, mingling with the crisp tang of pine from the open windows. Outside, the sound of pups laughing and splashing in the shallow stream behind the pack house filtered in like an old memory of home.....except this wasn’t home. My home to be exact. The pack house was practically the central Wing of the Malvore territory, housing mostly the teens and unmated youths. It had a huge cafeteria that could house the whole Malvore wolves. I sat at the long wooden table between Isla and Wyatt, Sloane leaning back in her chair across from us, balancing on two legs like she owned the place. Isla was nibbling on a pastry while Wyatt was in the middle of a story about one of the younger wolves trying to challenge him to a race and losing spectacularly. How mature. “You didn’t have to humiliate him,” Isla chided between bites, though the sparkle in her eyes betrayed her

  • The Alpha's Claim    CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE: WHAT'S LEFT BEHIND

JASMINE The Malvore territory felt so much quiet now. Other days I would see kids playing in the maze garden, or teens sparing in the east wing courtyard. Instead everyone stayed home and security was tighter, especially in the North wing. Everyone became solemn as their leader left for the meeting. After reading their history books, their behavior Is perfectly justified. Their leader can be assassinated like the former leaving them leaderless, to be divided by ravenous houses. Lucien left at dawn. I watched from the window as he entered car, vera dressed in a red formal dress entered the car behind him. Although they didn't enter the came vehicle, they still looked like the rightful Alpha and alpha female. I watched as his convoy pulled away, sleek cars slicing through the morning mist, sentinel guards surrounding him like iron shadows. Even through all this, he didn't look up. Not once. And why would he? He made it clear that night, I’m not his Alpha Female. Not his partner,

  • The Alpha's Claim    CHAPTER TWENTY: THE COUNCIL

LUCIENSilence coated the chambers as everyone waited for the last house to show up. The chamber was colder today, not by degrees, but by presence. The moment the envoys of House D’Arvenzi stepped into the Council Hall, the temperature shifted. Words hadn’t yet been spoken, but already I felt it.Today is going to be hectic. They wore the D’Arvenzi colors, black and crimson, the shade of blood spilled in elegance. Their acting Alpha, Ronan D’Arvenzi, walked at the head, flanked by three sentinels, all lean, sharp-eyed wolves who reeked of arrogance and perfectly masked menace. As acting alpha, he had the right to sit amongst us, but that didn't mean we will all see him as one of us.I didn’t stand. He didn’t bow.Of course.Ronan’s pale eyes swept across the chamber, pausing on me for just a breath too long. The corner of his mouth curved.“Lucien,” he said smoothly, like he could already see himself as my equal. My wolf growled from his disrespect, obviously seeing Ronan's wolf as be

  • The Alpha's Claim    CHAPTER NINETEEN: THE SUMMONS

LUCIENFifteen days.Fifteen days since I rejected her as my Alpha female. Jasmine hadn’t come to see me once to complain or try to work things together. Not a glance or a word. Not even a whisper of her presence near my floor. Maybe it's because I've forbidden her name from being spoken in the East wing. Her lack of care for our future shouldn't have mattered to me. It shouldn't be getting under my skin. But it did.And everyday without her I feel like I'm fucking insane.Because every day she didn’t come back to me, every hour she didn’t confront me, i wondered if I’d cut deeper than I intended. And maybe I wanted her to bleed.Maybe I wanted her to fight for the title she claimed she didn’t want.Instead, I got silence. She gave me exactly what I asked for. And somehow, it felt like punishment. The knock on my door was delicate and sharp. My wolf immediately perked up, his ears pulled back, growling with subtle ferality.I didn't need to smell the wolf to know who it was at the doo
