Chapter 05

   KYLIE!

   “Kylie, nothing happened. You tripped and you fell so the fall made you lose the baby. That is all. Aurora is pregnant, so thankfully, there's still one heir.”

    “Luna Kylie, Alpha Damon is here.” Luke's voice snapped me out of my trance and the tears escaped my eyes. I was here against Liam's orders, but I didn't care.

What I was about to do was more important than my love. I lost everything already. I lost the baby I was willing to give and sacrifice everything for. The one thing that still kept my sanity in check, and I wasn't going to let it slide,

I too was done with this marriage.

Even if Liam begged for me to come back which I was certain he would never, I was completely done as all the love I had for Liam had been ripped out of me the moment he took her side.

   “Where's Alpha Liam?” I asked Luke,

     “He's at the ballroom with the rest of the Alpha and Luna Aurora.”

The last name made my stomach churn in disgust. Earlier today, Liam had instructed every single soul in the mansion to call her by the name Luna even knowing he was throwing the biggest insult at me.

After the news of me losing my baby had gone round, everyone believed that it was as a result of the strange sickness which it wasn't,

    “Luna, you shouldn't be here. You should be resting.” Luke once again interrupted my thoughts,

    “This is exactly where I should be, and this is exactly what I should be doing, Luke.” I responded to him and began to walk away,

I got into the ballroom and made my way past the dance floor. Aurora was in Liam's arms, and they were both moving around to the slow beat of the song alongside other Alphas and their Lunas. One of his hand was on her waist and the other was holding her hand,

His eyes were filled with so much love and passion for her. I had never seen Liam smile this way with me, but with her, it was an easy thing to do.

This was enough to make me understand that all these years, it wasn't just me. It wasn't because I wasn't capable of being loved, but it was because he just couldn't love me. A tear almost slid down to my face again, but I held it back in with a sniffle,

I wish them both nothing but immense pain and misery, and as for Liam, I was very certain that once I'm successfully able to draw my pack out from his, his pack would go unrecognized since the strength of mine was what was holding it strong.

    “Stay here Luke, I'll be back soon.” I instructed, but then he tried to counter me, 

     “No, but, Luke. Liam can not find out that Alpha Damon isn't in the party else he'd suspect that I'm here too.” 

Luke nodded his head and I began to walk away. I held onto my long tight yellow dress sweeping the floor as I walked up the stairs, heading towards the third floor.

I had earlier also received a message from Alpha Damon that I had just 10 minutes for this meeting and so in 10 minutes, I had to convince him to help me as well as temporarily cancel his cooperation on the project with the pack.

Rumor had it that he had been away from his pack for more than 5 years, and had refused to return until a few weeks back. No one knew the actual reason for his return, but at least I was happy it was at a time I needed his help most.

When I got to the third floor, I took the left turn and suddenly halted. Fuck! I didn't get the room number where Alpha Damon had asked me to meet him and it wasn't written in the letter either.

I took in a deep breath and continued to walk until I felt something strange,

Something was wrong.

    “Mate! Mate!” My Wolf, Kathleen kept crying out, but that couldn't be possible. How the hell was my mate in one of these rooms? 

    “Mate Kylie, Mate.”

I had no time to start looking for whoever Kathleen was calling mate because I had just five minutes more to meet up with Alpha Damon. The letter had strictly stated 8;30, and according to Luke, Alpha Damon wasn't one who joked with punctuality.

If I wanted to make a good first impression on him, then I had to be there on time.

     “Kathleen, not now. I need to meet Alpha Damon.”

    “Mate.” She continued to cry out, and suddenly I couldn't control my legs. Kathleen was taking control of my body and moving towards a path I didn't want to.

     “No, no, I can't lose this opportunity, Kathleen.” I tried to reason with her, but it was impossible. A wolf bond to her mate was the strongest thing which was why I couldn't control my wolf now that she had found her mate and wanted to be with him.

I suddenly halted in front of a door. A door that has the crest of the Blood Moon Pack. I arched my brows staring at it because I was certain it was Alpha Damon’s pack,

Before I could touch the door knob and rasp a knock on the door, it opened revealing a man with a low cut and wearing a blue tuxedo,

This couldn't be Alpha Damon, could it? But then this was where Kathleen led me to, so was this man my mate?

    “Kylie Anderson?” He questioned and I nodded my head almost immediately, trying so hard to compose myself and ignore Kathleen’s continuous cry for her mate,

He suddenly opened the door wide enough for me to step in, and once I did, I met him.

    Alpha Damon Donovan. He was seated on a one seater white couch with most of his buttons left undone, and fuck, I couldn't stop myself from staring at his chest,

Everything about this man was screaming hot! And for a second, I found myself drooling over his masculinity,

   He raised his head slowly to stare at me, and that was when I heard Kathleen call again, this time with an even more excited tone, 

    “Mate.”
