Chapter 04

That same night, I couldn't wait for morning to come by quickly so I could get ready for the party and begin my plans on how to get my pack back from Liam.

I had already made a decision to take care of this baby alone. I was an Alpha after all, and my baby didn't deserve this life that I was living.

I let out a smile at the thought of this child being a girl. I always dreamt of having a girl child so I could treat her the way my mother treated me. Love. She gave and taught me everything and so I wanted to do the same for my baby.

A boy wouldn't be bad too 

He'll be my little handsome prince, and he'll get to share stories of all the countless ladies crushing on him. He'll get to introduce me to his little girlfriend one day too. I giggled at the thought of this. Whatever the moon goddess wanted to give me, I would gladly accept. I was grateful that at least I would have a baby to fill my day with love and happiness once I end my marriage with Liam and get my pack back.

It wouldn't be easy because I love him so much, but if I wanted my baby to grow up in a healthy home, then I had to take this hurtful bold step,

  I stared down at my stomach, and rubbed it gently. I wished I could place a kiss on it, but I couldn't,

    “I promise, I'm going to love and protect you with everything I have, my child. You would never feel the absence of a father because I'll take good care of you.” I whispered, kissed my fingers, and placed it on my stomach. That was the only way I could send a kiss to my child,

Just then, the pain began again. The unbearable pain of you feeling your mate in the arms of another woman, and it was hurting. My chest felt like it was being burned down from the inside. All of my bones are trying hard to stay intact. I couldn't shift right now, not when I was carrying a child inside of me.

Pregnant wolves were to stay human until after delivery. That was when our first shift happened after a long time.

I managed to rise to my feet a few minutes afterwards when the pains had reduced,

I had to get my pills in the living room so I would be able to sleep without thinking that Liam was in the arms of Aurora. Maybe it was time to fully accept that I would never win in all of this. I rose to my feet, walking slowly towards the door.

As I stepped out of the room, everywhere was silent,

This was the best time to leave my room and get whatever I wanted in the living room. It was the best time that was free of giggles and noises from Liam and his mistress talking about the love they had for each other or the memories they had of each other while they were apart.

Apparently, in their conversation, Liam always made it clear that I was the stumbling stone in their relationship. That I was the cause of why they had to separate from each other and why she was banished, but I never wanted all of this.

All I ever wanted was to be with the man I loved. I was selfish in the past, but not anymore. Right now, I was willing to let go and walk away.

As I got to the stairs, I heard Aurora's voice. I cocked my head towards the direction of the voice and saw her standing at the entrance of their room. A room I only got to stay in a few times since we were married. A room that she now shared with my husband,

    “You look pitiful.” She uttered, taking steps closer to me.

I simply stared at her, without knowing what to respond,

     “Did you really think that Liam would choose you over me? Let's say I have him wrapped around my tiny little fingers, Kylie. I have something that you're never going to have no matter what, the love of a mate.”

I balled my fist. “There's no need to cry, Kylie, you gave up already so swallow everything” I told myself and took a deep breath in,

    “Leave me alone, Aurora. I admit to losing. Fine, you finally got what you always wanted, but then you'd never be a match for me. That's what you're obsessed about isn't it? Wanting to become better than me, and that is why you fell in love with Liam in the beginning. Because I fell for him first. But guess what, you'd always be beneath me no matter how much you try.” I whispered to her as she was standing close to me. 

   “No matter what, I'd always be Luna and you’d always be regarded as the mistress.”

Her eyes suddenly turned red with rage, and the veins around her forehead made her look funny,

I knew I had gotten to her already and I was happy.

I was about to take a step, but she grabbed my hair, and covered my mouth so that I wouldn't scream out loud,

I tried to murmur, but I couldn't,

  “Only one person deserves to have Liam’s baby, Kylie, and that is me. And yes, I always envied you. Why should you be born in wealth and not me? Why should you have everything in life while I was the daughter of a servant? I always saw you as a competition, but all that ends today. I won't let you take Liam away from me for a second time, not even with this baby.” She uttered and before I could fight back, she pushed me so hard making me lose my balance.

In less than a second, I was rolling on the stairs, and once it was all over, I cried out in pain with blood gushing out of my forehead,

I weakly stared at Aurora with a blurry vision, as I struggled,

    “P…. please… m…my baby. P….ple…please save m…my baby.” I cried out in a faint voice as a tear rolled down my eyes,

The next thing I heard was a loud scream from Aurora,

   “Luna! Luna! Luna, someone help! Anyone! Alpha Liam, SOMEBODY HELP!”
