Cassian walked past me, taking a seat on the love seat in my room.

“I did promise that I’ll be answering every one of your questions,” he said, “Well here is your chance. What do you want to know?”

He was giving me a free pass, to finally ask all the questions I’d been burning to ask and I didn’t plan on wasting it. I was going to hit the nail right in the head.

“Do you have a plan—on how to take down my ex-mate?” I asked, ignoring the fact that it was way too early to ask that question. Cassia

Never once in the past two years had I felt so vulnerable and exposed, and it had nothing to do with the fact that I was completely naked. I hated it.“Wait.” I called as he made his way to my bed, but he wouldn’t listen and no matter how hard I tried wiggling out of his grasp, he just wouldn’t let go. “It doesn’t have to be this way!” I spoke louder. “I did not lie when I said I knew exactly how to please a man, and I could prove it to you right now. Right here.”The truth was that all I needed was that illusion that I was in control—even if that was very far from being true. Finally, he let me go. I’d gotten his attention.“Go on, Eloise. Impress me.”The mask was on. The one I wore anytime I was called upon by clients. The confidence was false, and so was the flirty smile on my face, but right now, I wasn’t Eloise, I was Ruby the stripper.Cassian might be a blank book, but I could make a wild guess as to his preferences. For one, I could tell he enjoyed a good challenge. I re

What had I done? That was the first thought on my mind the moment Cassian had walked out of the door. You’d think by now I knew better than to let my emotions get the best of me, but clearly, I didn’t, because I’d allowed Cassian’s words to get to me. The next day, when I’d heard the knock on the door, my heart sped up as I wondered if it’ll be Cassian at the other side of the door. It wasn’t—I should have known though, Cassian would never have knocked. It was a maid who’d come in with a tray of food and had silently placed it on the table before walking away. Two days went by just like that. By the third day I was pacing the room, beside myself in worry. I had to leave this room, if not I might just go insane.I took a quick bath, before putting on one of the dresses provided for me, then I headed out. What I hadn’t prepared for was the curious glances from pack members. After spending the past two years in hiding, this type of attention was the last thing I needed. The whisper

I was going to hit the nail right in the head.“Do you have a plan—on how to take down my ex-mate?” I asked, ignoring the fact that it was way too early to ask that question. Cassian took a moment to respond and I wondered if he’d go against his own words by refusing to.“Yes, I do. But to make this plan work, I need your help.”“My help?”“Yes, Eloise. You were not only a member of the Winter-Hill pack, you were the Luna. That means you once had access to every information about the pack, and also about…him.” I was grateful Cassian had chosen not to say his name out loud.“It’s been over two years since I’d been to the Winter-Hill pack. A lot could have changed,” I said t

I waited for him to say he was lying, or that what he’d just said was some kind of a joke, but he didn’t. He was telling the truth.“Cassian has a mate?”He shook his head, as if disappointed in his own Alpha. “Yes, he does.”I opened my mouth to speak, only to shut it back. I stared down at Cassian who led Rosalia back into the pack house. His arms wrapped around her waist, and only then did I realize how badly I’d messed up.I should have asked him. I should have… but how was I supposed to know? Men with mates don’t take mistresses.“I am a greedy man Eloise,” he’d said to me, but I hadn’t really understood what he’d meant, I should have taken it literally. “I think I should go,” Darrel said, and before I could give a response to that, he walked away, leaving me alone with the guilt now eating at my chest.I thought back to my time in coma, the pain I’d felt those nights Jefferson had been with another woman. I’d lost my wolf in the process, and this was what I was about to do to a

I couldn’t sleep. Maybe it was because my body had gotten so used to going through nights without sleep, or maybe it was this part of my mind that was convinced I was in more danger than I could have ever been at the Bishopp’s establishment. The day was breaking, and I’d gotten not even a wink of sleep. Finally giving up, I walked to the balcony, pushing it open and welcoming the cool morning breeze. From here I was awarded a beautiful view of the pack’s field, the small stream beyond it and then the woods. It was a beautiful view, and yet all I could see was an escape route.I looked down the balcony, it’d be quite a jump, but the tree just below me was going to break my fall ensuring I had a lot less injuries to deal with, and then I could head in that direction—“Are you going to jump off the balcony?” Came a voice that startled the bejesus out of me. It was the guy with jetblack hair—the one who’d stomped out of the living room the moment he’d seen me. I think his name was Gabr

An Alpha’s strength is usually measured by his pack size. Yet, most Alphas would rather run smaller packs as then they wouldn’t have to worry about revolts and constant challenge from members who believed they could do a better job at ruling if they had the title. It was cowardice in a way and yet the reality of most packs, but the Netherlands were the exemption. As the car drove through what seemed to be a mini-city, I couldn’t hold back my awe. Running a pack this big is begging to be challenged and overthrown and yet, the Netherlands Alpha was doing just that. The main pack house was huge, surrounded by an equally large training space. At the very top of the pack house was the Netherlands Emblem; a lion with the wings of an eagle. I let my gaze return to Cassian, who seemed lost in his own world. The cigarette stick in his hands had gone out, but he didn’t seem to notice that. The car came to a stop, bringing him back to himself. He tossed the burnt-out cigarette outside the w
