CHAPTER 48

The room went quiet again, the iron bars standing solidly into the ground as a provocative barrier to my release. I looked around the dungeon, it was dim and scanty but also very neat. On the table, fixed at the center of the room, was a tray that contained meals and different kinds of fruits.

The floor was covered in a cashmere carpet and the room smelt like lavender. Until now, I didn't notice the setting and I knew for sure that Derek was behind it. This was in no way like every other dungeon, not even the dungeons of the Crimson Pack. Someone had put in work to make it look this good.

Dungeons were normally kept for offenders and they almost always looked like the most inhabitable place. Seeing how much work was done to make the one I was in look almost habitable, I couldn't help but wonder what Derek was up to.

And the thought feared me.
