Male pack members gathered on the porch, grunting and gearing themselves up for tonight’s festivities. I sat in the living room with a book in my lap, pretending not to be bothered about my impending house arrest.

Reinn trudged down the stairs, pulling a white shirt over his slightly damp hair. He was still wet from the shower and his short beard looked recently trimmed. I could smell the eucalyptus and mint aftershave from where I sat.
