Two days…two days had already gone by and I had no means of getting Mercedes back. What would Chris and the rogues do to her? Was she still alive?

Never had I felt so helpless in my entire life. The council had stripped me of my power and as though that weren’t enough, they had confined me. Guards lurked around my office and my bedroom, waiting for me to make a wrong step so they could bundle me to court.
