Chapter 47

Author's POV...

He drummed his pen against the table in hopes of distracting himself from the pile of work that was currently sitting right on top of there, staring at him.

But his efforts proved futile because no matter how much he drummed, the work remained on his table. Being a Beta was no child's play, and the fact that he had to spend hours working non-stop already proved that fact.

Sighing heavily, he picked up another file from the pile on the table. He began scanning through it, the words were starting to become a blurry mess to him at this point, but he pushed on.

A small knock came on his office door, and if it were not for his superhuman hearing, then he would have missed it. He crossed his fingers and silently prayed to the goddess that it wasn't more work, any more than what he had to deal with at the moment, and he might be passing out.

"Come in," he called out, and the door opened to reveal Ramona.

"Hi." She said, offering him a small smile which he happily returned
