{Lyra}

I woke up with a yawn that felt like it came from my soul. My limbs ached from the awkward way I’d sprawled across the bed, and my mouth felt dry. I rolled over, my eyes were still crusted with sleep, as I reached for my buzzing phone.

At first, I thought it was a call, but when my eyes finally adjusted to the light, I realized it wasn’t. “Shit.”

Internship – NovaCore Inc. – 8:00 a.m. sharp.

It was a reminder for the internship I had managed to get after throwing my non-existent resume at every place that didn't require prior experience. Most of them ghosted me, and some had the decency to send the usual polite rejection emails, but one had actually called back.

They had offered me a paid internship, nothing fancy really, just a trial run to see if I was a "good fit for the company." Translation; don't screw it up.

Varen may have been my partner in revenge, but he wasn’t in any way responsible for me or my brother, and honestly, I preferred it that way. The unfortunate part wa

  • The Alpha's Fated Desire   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE

    {Lyra}I stepped out of the portal expecting to appear in Crownshaven, and in a way I guess I did, just not where I was expecting. For starters, Ryker and Allen were nowhere to be found, and instead all I saw around me were flowers and lush greenery. As I looked around, I immediately realized where I had been teleported to. It was the Bloodhound secret garden in Dominic’s estate. But why would Allen’s portal bring me here, it didn’t make any sense.In the end, I guess it didn’t matter. I came back to Crownshaven to save Odessa, and as long as I could do that, then I didn’t care where the portal sent me as long as I could get to her. Bringing me to the garden was in a way faster than if I had appeared in Allen’s place.The portal disappeared as soon as I stepped out. I took another look around and found the stone door which was still closed, and a part of me was grateful that I never returned Odessa’s key back to her.But when I began to walk toward the door, my wolf spoke out, shock

  • The Alpha's Fated Desire   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR

    {Dominic}I stared helplessly at the portal as it shrunk and shrunk till it dissapeared right in front of me. The moment it did, everywhere felt very quiet except the occasional sound of wind fluttering the trees.I hoped with everything inside of me that Evangeline would be okay, and a huge part of me was also hoping that she would somehow find a way to help Odessa. The thought of a witch possessing my sister was both sickening and disheartening to hear, and if Evangeline thought that she could stop that from happening, then the least I could do was believe in her.I let out a deep sigh and made my way back to the car, driving back to Grimhold’s manor. During the drive I decided to really take in the sights the town had to offer. I had to make it seem that I had driven all the way to the airstrip, so a little detour was probably for the best.Frostvale may have been a terribly cold region, but it was a beautiful place nonetheless. Grimhold was rumored to rule with an iron fist, much

    {Dominic}“Absolutely not.” I found myself saying as I disconnected the call to see if I could talk some sense into Evangeline before she got herself killed.“There’s no way I’m letting you go alone.” I added in a stern voice.“There’s no time for both of us to fly,” she replied, already shifting to the edge of the bed. “If there’s a way for me to get to her now, then we should take it.”“And I’m just supposed to board a plane and get there hours later when that witch takes control of my little sister?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.“You’re not going to be boarding any plane any time soon. Or did you forget why you came here, already?” she said, narrowing her eyes. “You’re going to make sure that this alliance happens no matter what, and that means staying back and getting it done.”“But…”“But nothing, Dominic. We both have jobs to do, and I was the one who had the vision anyway. Maybe there’s a way I can stop the witch from possessing Odessa before it’s too late,.”“Damn. It was har

  • The Alpha's Fated Desire   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWO

    {Lyra}When I first woke up, all I saw was darkness, but somehow, the darkness felt familiar. While my subconscious was trying to figure out why it felt so familiar, a wave of realization hit me, and I remembered that I was on a sled.I was taking part in Myra’s bridal relay, about to sled down a hill, so why in the Goddess’s name was I here now?In a space made of literally nothing.I tried to move, but my legs didn’t budge one bit. It was like they’d been glued to the floor… or whatever this black surface even was. I couldn’t feel anything beneath me, and yet I was sure I was standing on something.“Hello?” I called out, weakly at first, but my voice still echoed like I’d shouted in a canyon. “Is anybody there?”“I’m here.” I heard a voice from nowhere.I tried to jump, but I still couldn’t move. It didn’t stop my heart from skipping a beat as I looked around wildly. “Who sad that?” I asked, squinting into the darkness.“I did,” the voice replied again, but a little softer this tim

    {Dominic}I caught her hand in the air, and the woman froze, her eyes bulging like I had shifted right in front of her. I hadn’t, of course, but the sheer audacity of this woman to lift her hand against me was enough to make my eyes blaze gold.“Do you have any idea who I am?” I growled as my grip tightened around her wrists.“I—I didn’t mean—”“No. You did mean,” I cut her off, glaring at her while suppressing the urge to bite her head off. “Try that again, and I’ll end your life. Yours and your husband’s.”Her knees buckled under the sound of my voice, and I scoffed. The moment I released my hold and let my Alpha aura out, she dropped to her knees immediately, lowering her head to the ground as her shoulders trembled.“Please, Alpha. Forgive me. I was wrong… I didn’t know.”As I looked at her, all I could feel was utter disgust, so I waved her off, and she slinked back and disappeared from my sight.Now I could get back to what actually mattered… Evangeline. But that little scene di

    {Lyra}Talia and Sasha pushed off the ground and began sprinting toward what looked like tunnels. I didn’t know what I expected when Rhea announced this whole relay thing, but it certainly wasn’t this.“Tunnel Tumble first,” Myra said from beside me, giggling like a little kid. “They’ll dive through the crawl tube, grab two glow rings, and then hit a snowball through that wreath.”She pointed to a green wreath dangling from a candy cane post at the far end of the snow path.“This is ridiculous,” I muttered, biting back a grin.“Oh, it gets worse,” she whispered, winking at me.And just like that, Talia and Sasha launched themselves into the tunnel with the grace of terrified squirrels. Their boots kicked up sprays of powder behind them, and within seconds, muffled shrieks echoed from inside the snow tunnel.“Oh my goddess, why is it so slippery?!” Talia’s voice came out as a squeal.“I CAN’T SEE!” Sasha yelled back. Myra was already laughing beside me, and I couldn’t help joining in.
