Merlin was descending the staircase just as Zeke entered the foyer, their eyes meeting as he held her gaze until she reached the bottom.

It was late when they eventually returned to the mansion and Merlin went straight to her room to bathe and put on some clothes. They were found a short time later, by a search party, led by Abel, after Zeke’s vehicle had been found abandoned by the side of the road. Zeke’s wolf had put him into an almost comatose state during the night, in order to heal him, and he had fully recovered by the time they reached the mansion.
