Rose's POV

"I would like to apologize for the way we met. I can only imagine what you think of me." Derek says with a frown.

"There is no need to apologize. We hardly know each other. It's not like I'm your girlfriend or anything. I mean, it's not like you cheated on me." I said.

For some reason, I felt that little pain in my chest from my response, like I was lying to myself. When I looked over at him, he had an expression I didn't understand and looked deep in thought.

"Look, I know we just met, but I want you to know that your opinion of me matters a lot," He says.

"As I said, you have no reason to apologize to me. You did nothing wrong." I replied.

After that, we drove in complete silence to the restaurant.

After dinner, Derek said he had to leave for an emergency trip later that night. He just returned from one and had to go back because something happened.

When we returned to the house, I went to my room to relax, but when I walked into my room, It was empty.

"I had your things moved to a different room," I heard Derek say from behind me.

"You didn't have to. This room is just fine,"

"This room is not good enough for you. Come, I will take you to your new room. It's on the fifth floor." He said while taking my hand in his.

I could feel those wonderful sparks again as we made our way to my new room.

When we made it to the room, I couldn't believe how beautiful or big it was. It was about the size of our old three-bedroom apartment back in New York.

There was a big room. It had a family room when you first walked in, with a brown sectional and a forty-inch tv hanging on the wall.

 I saw a full kitchen with a stove and sink. There was a microwave and a glass table with four chairs.

There was another room further back with a big bed, bigger than the king size in the first room I had today.

There was a TV about 32 inches sitting on a wooden dresser. To the left, there was a balcony.

There were two other doors, the first was a big walk-in closet, and the other was a beautiful big bathroom. With twin sinks, a shower, and a huge jacuzzi tub that looked like it could fit four people in it.

"Derek, this is too much. I can't accept this," I told him.

"It is not too much," He said.

I started picking up my bags to return to the old room, but he stopped me by stepping in front of me.

"Please stay here. I know today has been weird and confusing for you, but please stay. This is your room," he said, looking at me with pleading eyes.

I just nodded, letting him know I would stay.

"Thank you!" I said.

"There is no reason to think me, Flower. I told you this room was made for you,"

"Flower?" I asked, thinking about the nickname.

"Yes, Flower," he said, and then he hugged me, sending tingles all over my body.

"Dad is waiting for you downstairs?" Kate said.

"Okay, can you tell him I will be down in a minute?" He asked his sister, not taking his eyes off me. She told him she would and left.
