Chapter 8

The following day, Miranda showed Estelle around the territory. It was like a small town hidden inside the forest. Individual houses, family owned stalls, two small cafes, the medical hall, and a two story education center were built all around the land. A huge empty field is used for their training and exercise, the equipment at a corner.

As they passed one of the cafes, they were joined by Gerald. He wore a dark brown leather vest with bow in his hand and arrows strapped to his back. He greeted them enthusiastically and asked Estelle how she was doing.

“I’m doing fine, surprisingly. Everyone here is so welcoming.” She replied with a warm smile.

“Good to hear that. You’ll soon learn that we’re all family here.” He grinned, placing an arm over her shoulder.

She smiled at that. She noticed that fact with how everyone treats each other so comfortably. “Oh, why do you have a bow with you?”

“He just ended his daily practice routine. Everyone has one.” Miranda answered for Gerald.
