Chapter 24

ALEXIA

Raven never showed up to school, I double texted her, asking if she was alright and I never got a response back. I couldn’t concentrate in class because of how worried I was. Fortunately, the teacher was too busy yapping on about what she was teaching to care about if we were paying attention or not. Once the bell rang, indicating class was over, I cleared my desk before then making my way towards the exit.

“Miss Jackson…”

I stopped at the sound of my name, turning back around, I approached the teacher where she stood. “You called me.”

“Indeed I did, care to explain why you weren’t paying attention in my class?” She inquired, folding her arms across her chest.

Oh? She did notice then! Realizing I might be facing detention as punishment, I search my mind for any excuse that could potentially save me from that. “I apologize if it seemed that way but I can assure you, I was very much paying attention.”
