Chapter 16

(Third Person's POV)

Aya stood in front of Mildred's door looking sad and uneasy. But despite her naturally curious nature, Mildred really didn't care. She needed her to leave. This was not the right time to discuss anything and she wasn't interested in what Aya had to say.

Mildred looked at Aya and felt sick to her bones. Sick of pretending that everything was perfectly normal, sick of trying to talk to a person who she knew did not care about her and was a bloody user.

So she spoke her mind…

"Aya, I don't see the point in pretending that everything is fine, and I'm not in the right headspace to discuss whatever you came her to talk about so please can kindly let yourself out of this apartment. We will have whatever discussion it is later."

As Mildred spoke, she noticed that Aya wasn't looking at her or listening to her. She was looking at the pregnancy stick she held in her right hand. Instinctively Mildred looked down and saw two little lines showing that she was pregnant.
