Chapter 37

Aurora’s POV

I woke up to the lights reflecting off the white walls of wherever I was. It didn’t feel like a prison cell, that’s for sure. The sheets felt soft under my skin, and there wasn’t any sharp pain at all, unlike what usually happens when you wake up. Instead, it was like waking up inside a cloud of happiness and tranquillity.

As if someone had cast a calming spell on me, as if they’d placed themselves right next to me so that I could feel their warmth, even when they’re far away. It was strange enough to make me think that it must be magic, or something similar. Or maybe not.

Whatever it was, I welcomed it with open arms , wanting nothing more than to let go and sink into this wonderful world of dreams where people are just kind enough to take care of you. That doesn’t happen much these days, especially after all I had been through…

It was as if everything took a fast turn, a very fast one as memories from last night came flooding back, as I opened my eyes.
