Mag-log inKiera's POV
The beeping of my alarm continued. I turned to the other side of the bed, using the pillow to cover my ears, but then the beeping continued. I furiously stood up and turned off the alarm.
Looking around the room, no incident of last night came to my mind, my head banging so badly. “Fuck.” I exclaimed as I stood up from the bed, and then I looked down on myself, boom. With no single clothing on, I am stark naked; I couldn't help bulging my eyes out in awe.
The realization just dawned on me that I don't know my way around this apartment; it's rather foreign.
“Where the hell is this?” I asked rhetorically as I stared around the apartment with a furrowed eyebrow, my mind rumbling with hundreds of reasons why I could be naked in a foreign bed, fear creeping into my head, but then it all began to crumble back into my head broken, like a mirage yet in flashes.
There's the bar, there's the dark, handsome man, then. “Do you mind if we fuck?”
“Shit.” I lay down as I threw myself on the bed, using the bedspread to cover my face. I dragged the pillow along, pressing it on my lips as I streamed out in shame.
What the hell did I just do? I fucked a stranger? I am the Luna of the Moonlight Pack; that alone should have kept me on track, but no, this is so unlike me. But…
“I had fun; for the first time in my life, I felt like a woman.” A smile crept to my lips at my words; after all, it's a one-night thing; hopefully I won't ever set my eyes on him again until the day I return to dust.
Standing to my feet again, I walked towards a door, opened it, and it seemed like the exit door. I walked to another, and there it is, the bathroom. I took a rapid bath and walked out, putting on my clothes as fast as I could. Furthermore, I picked up my phone from the nightstand and walked out of the room, taking the stairs to the first floor.
Moreover, I tried not to take notes on how the building looked; it would make this incident rather easier to forget. Turning on my phone as I paddled down the roadside, a call came in almost immediately, as expected; it's Preston.
“Where the hell have you been? I've been trying to reach your damn ass for ages now, but you decide to disappear into thin air with your mobile switched off, right?” He barked into the phone; I could feel his anger erupting from his heart, his voice clarifying that the more, as though he could tear me into myriad pieces if he set his eyes on me.
“I just need some time off…” He cut me short immediately.
“Get your damn ass back into this mansion right this minute; you're needed!” He let out and hung up on me. I increased my steps trying to find where I parked my car last night. Then after almost thirty minutes, I saw it. I searched my pants pocket for the keys, and hopefully I found it.
Pressing the car remote, I stepped in, and after a few minutes, I arrived at the Pack mansion. The air around feels rather tense and eerily calm. I tried to mind link to Coke, but it wasn't going through. I rushed into my room and took yet another bath; I can't afford Preston perceiving a different scent on me; I didn't even get the name of the dark-skinned handsome man. Likewise, I bit my cheeks, stopping myself from smiling.
After a quick bath, I walked into the room with a towel wrapped around my body; I felt my heart jump into my stomach as I saw Preston sitting on the edge of my bed. My hands began to tremble; no doubt he can see the fear written all over my body.
“Kiera?” He called out, and I swallowed hard.
“Yes, my Alpha.” I replied, trying to conceal my fears.
“You have a different scent in you,” he said as he stood up immediately and strolled towards me.
“What do you mean by that? That must be your own different scent playing tricks on you after you must have soaked your body with her sweat.” I replied immediately as I took a step backward, staring directly into his eyes.
A knock came at my door almost immediately. “My Alpha, three wolves have been reported dead.” Cola announced, and I bulged out my eyes, confused.
“What?” I asked, and Preston retreated backwards and threw a hard punch on the wall.
“Last night a family of four people was all dead from a mysterious bite on their necks. Our pack doctors and healers are trying their best to identify which insect bit them.” He started, and I walked to the wardrobe, took a bra, and put it on, careful not to expose any of my body parts.
“After a few hours, we discovered that it might be a virus, as two to twenty people have been reported with the bites, and right now three people are dead; it's spreading.” He turned to me as I was putting on my black jeans pants with a towel still wrapped around my waist.
“We need you to get to the root of this disease with your team of healers; we trust you as the best healer.” He said, and I took the towel and walked into the bathroom and hung it on the towel rack.
“Okay.” I replied as I walked back into my room; he smiled and held my hands, trying to kiss my palm when I yanked his hand off.
“You can go.” I said as I turned to my dressing mirror.
“You know that I love you…” I cut him short immediately with anger burning in my heart.
“Save those words for your fated mate.” He was about to continue his lullaby when a loud knock came on the door again.
“Baby.” His stupid mate called out to him, and he dashed out of my room immediately.
“Fool,” I muttered as I applied lotion on my skin, then picked up my phone and stepped out.
“Kiera.” She must be a fool to think I will answer her.
“I am talking to you.” She voiced out, but I kept walking towards the main door, but then I felt a sharp object pierce through my back, and I halted immediately.
“Where do you think you're going to? How dare you ignore me?” She asked as she raised her hand, and it landed heavily on my cheeks. I swear I saw shining stars from the effect of the slap; I can't feel my cheeks reddening.
“The fact that you're living under the Alpha's roof seems to be creasing your elbow. I'm sure you won't want to see the bad side of me. Peacefully take your things to the pack house and stay there.” She said as she raised my jawline so that she's staring directly into my eyes.
She chuckled lightly. “You don't want it at the omega's house, do you?” She asked, and I immediately slapped her hands off my jaw and slapped her hard on her face, my entire palm covering her eyes, her nose, and her lips.
“I am the Luna of the Moonlight Pack.”
Alice POVI looked at Quinton's expression and couldn't help the laughter that erupted from my chest. The question he had just asked sounded so ridiculous coming from someone like him that I simply couldn't hold it in. For a moment, all the tension from the past few hours eased, and the sound of my laughter filled Damien's room. The room itself had finally settled into silence after the chaos of the ritual. The expensive chandelier hanging from the ceiling cast a warm golden glow over the polished furniture. The walls were adorned with rare paintings Damien had spent years collecting from different countries. The scent of cedarwood, leather, and expensive cologne lingered in the air. Everything looked perfect and untouched, yet the unconscious vampire lying on the bed reminded me that nothing about tonight had been normal. Quinton frowned at me."Why are you laughing?" He was confused. I laughed even harder and leaned ba
Alice POVQuinton held the girl's hand the moment we stepped outside her apartment and teleported straight back to Damien's room. I knew that after everything we had done tonight, both of us would need a ridiculous amount of blood to recover our strength. Teleporting repeatedly was draining enough, but whatever Quinton was planning looked far more dangerous than anything we had attempted so far.I followed immediately and appeared inside Damien's luxurious bedroom. The room looked exactly as it always had, elegant and immaculate despite the chaos surrounding its owner. Expensive paintings decorated the walls, their golden frames reflecting the soft glow of the chandelier overhead. The scent of cedarwood, expensive cologne, and freshly polished furniture lingered in the air. Everything in the room screamed perfection, yet Damien's unconscious body lying motionless on the bed made the entire place feel unsettling.I sat at
Alice POV"This is a private estate. There's no other person living here besides Damien. What don't you understand about that? How will you find a white witch here?" I asked, completely confused by the certainty in Quinton's voice, because nothing about what he was saying made sense to me in that moment. The estate had always felt predictable, almost controlled, like every corner belonged to Damien alone, and I knew it too well to believe there could be some hidden presence living inside it without my knowledge. The mansion itself stretched endlessly behind us, a structure of wealth and power, with polished marble floors, towering glass windows, and walls decorated with expensive paintings that Damien had personally collected over the years. Everything about it screamed order, silence, and exclusivity, and that was why Quinton’s claim felt almost insulting to my understanding of the place."I will go bring her. Stay here." He replied. His confidence irritated me more than it reassured
Alice POVI placed my index finger in front of my lips to give Quinton a sign to shut his mouth. The knock came again, louder this time, echoing through the mansion. The sound made my nerves tighten. Every second spent away from Damien felt dangerous. I quickly walked to the door, opened it slightly, stepped outside, and pulled it shut behind me before whoever was standing there could catch even a glimpse of what was happening inside."Good day ma, I'm sorry for disturbing you this hour of the night but..." I didn't let him finish and I interrupted immediately."I'm happy you know that this is not a good time to come knocking on someone's door. What the hell brought you here at this hour of the day?" I asked, anger surging through my chest. The manager swallowed hard. Sweat glistened on his forehead despite the cold night air. His eyes kept drifting toward the door behind me as if he expected Damien to suddenly appear."There's an emergency in the club that needs Sir Damien's immediat
Alice POVQuinton looked at me with a perplexed expression, as though he was trying to make sense of the words that had just left my mouth. He was no longer lying on the bed. At some point during my explanation, he had gotten to his feet and crossed the distance between us. Now he stood only a few steps away, his eyes fixed on mine, searching for any sign that I was joking."What do you mean by that? Alice, tell me this is a joke." He asked, pinning his gaze on me.My throat suddenly felt dry. Saying it once had been difficult enough. Saying it again felt even worse."Damien is dead." I said quietly as I rubbed my palms together. The words hung heavily in the air between us. Neither of us spoke for several seconds. Quinton simply stared at me as though his mind refused to accept what he had heard."How did this happen? Have you contacted the Priest and Arthurwolf?" He asked as he began pacing
Damien’s POVI moved my swivel chair sideways and studied her with quiet amusement as she stepped into the room like she always owned the space, like gravity bent slightly differently around her presence. Alice had that kind of entrance that didn’t ask for attention but took it anyway, the kind of beauty that didn’t feel soft or delicate but sharp and intentional, like something forged rather than born.Tonight she looked like a night queen, a figure carved out of elegance and danger, the type of presence humans would stare at too long without understanding why they suddenly felt unsettled. She was wearing a red mini gown, short enough to demand attention without ever trying, the fabric clinging to her frame in a way that suggested confidence more than exposure, her long sleeves made from a mesh like material embroidered with faint silver beadwork that shimmered whenever she moved her arms.
Kiera's POVStaring into the mirror, I applied the final touches to my face, a smile curling on my lips as I blew a playful kiss at my reflection. Grabbing my handbag from the nightstand, I strode toward the door, the sharp click of my heels echoing across the marble floor.“Good morning, Kiera. Ho
Kiera's POV“You don't need to hold my hand. I am still the Luna of this pack regardless of my offense. Leave me; I can walk,” I said to them, but they all kept a straight face, tightening their hold on my arm as though I was perhaps talking to myself.“That's an order,” I said with my Luna authori
Kiera's POVAfter the confrontation with Tasha, I didn't feel like going into the forest searching for the drugs anymore; I just wanted to go somewhere far, so far away from the pack, from everyone. He can't bring in a liability into my house and still need my help; perhaps I should let the virus ge
Aethelwulf POV“How's the situation over there?” I asked over the phone as my driver kept driving.“It's getting bad by the minute, twenty persons with the same bite,” he said over the line, and I rubbed my temple slightly. This is so bad; I hope the doctors don't get infected too.“I'm close by,”
