Chapter 4: The Hunters.

Blaze's POV

Summer had been on my mind since last night. I was looking around her house for any hunters or vargulfs.

According to Keahi, the hunters have been on the move since last week. They were pursuing us one by one. I was only concerned about her safety.

I was prowling around in my wolf shape.

'I pretty sure she was safe' Fernis, my wolf said.

'Yeah.. I think so too'

The sun was about to rise, so I decided to return to the mansion. I changed my clothing and went downstairs to return to the city.

Brigid inquired, "Where have you been?"

"Just roaming around," I explained.

"You know it's dangerous to go out now, right?"

"Brigid, I can take care of myself, okay?"

"I know. "All I ask is that you be cautious."

"You don't have to worry about me, just worry about yourself,"

I went to the garage to get the car fixed. I haven't used it in a long time since Agni left us. I decided to stop because it reminded me of him. We used to drive it around different cities to meet up with other werewolves, but we couldn't do it anymore, Keahi hardly ever hangs out with me.

"It's been a while since I saw that," Keahi exclaimed. He was quite a sentimental werewolf.

"Yeah, me too,"

"Wanna go for a ride?" I offered.

"Is that still working?"

"I mean, I can repair it." "Will you meet me at the front gate?"

"Heck, yeah,"

I eventually got the car to work after repairing the minor faults. I jumped in and drove to Keahi. He was grinning as he waited for me. I hadn't seen his real smile in a decade. It was exhausting to argue with him every single day.

"Where do you want to go?"

"Let's go to Tom's." "I'd like to pay him a visit,"

"Alright, hop in!" I replied before driving away.

As I was driving, I noticed Summer sprinting. Why was she even running? Was there something she needed to do right away?

"I need to drop you off here, Keahi. Simply stroll to Tom's. You're only 5 minutes away from here," I said, motioning Keahi to get out of the car.

"Are you kidding me?" "What's the problem?" Keahi stated, startled.

"Uhm... I need to go to the bathroom hehe," Let's hope my excuse works.

"Seriously? "You may use Tom's restroom," he suggested.

"Ugh, just get out of the car!" I'll see you there, bye!" I yanked him from the car.

I drove away, leaving Keahi in the dark. I spotted her again, and she was still running, huh? She said she was late for school and decided to give her a ride.

I went straight to Tom's after dropping Summer off at school. I saw Keahi laughing with Tom, but when he noticed me, his countenance darkened again. Let's attempt to keep things cool. Keahi, aren't you a good wolf?

"Keahi! You're having a great time, eh, and hello, Tom! "Nice to see you again," I said jokingly.

"Shut the f*** up." "Don't pretend you didn't abandon me on the street earlier,"

"Don't be dramatic, it's just a five-minute walk," I told him.

"You two never changed haha," Tom laughed at our foolish quarrel before handing us a drink.

We stayed in Tom's bar for hours and didn't even notice the time passing. I informed Keahi that we needed to get home before the sun went down. He was really inebriated and could barely walk. What the hell? I don't want to be his nanny. This wolf was a tremendous pain in the ass.

I carried Keahi back to the parking lot. It was already dark outside, and numerous individuals were smoking.

"Run!" yelled a man, and I heard gunfire nearby.

Someone was following us, and I realized my car window was shattered. I quickly opened the door and pulled Keahi inside. The gunfire was still trailing us. There are already several shots in the automobile. I ducked my head and began driving away.

"It's the hunters," Keahi observed. He was already sober and staring at the man who had shot our automobile.

"What? "Did they recognize us?"

"I suppose not. They're also shooting at other cars. Maybe they're looking for someone else. "Drive faster!" he exclaimed.

We drove past Tom's pub, and as I peeked out the window, I noticed Summer hiding beneath the table. The bar was also in complete disarray. I could not see the road because there were so many people rushing, and the others were covered in blood and bruises.

"Keahi, I need to go back to the bar," I blurted out.

"What? No! Blaze, if they catch you, you're dead," Keahi said flatly.

"I know," I said, "but I have to go to her."

"Her? "Who the fuck was that, and you're willing to put your life in danger?"

"I need to protect her, her name is Summer okay!" I screamed, "You drive!"

I took Keahi's hand in mine and placed it on the steering wheel. We traded places, and I was now the passenger. As soon as Keahi approached the door of the bar, I opened the car door and jumped out.

"Hey! Take precautions! "I'll lure these jerks out here," Keahi yelled.

I glanced at him as he transformed into a wolf. He then raced in the opposite direction of the bar, and the hunters followed. I entered the pub to see Summer.

"Wilder?" she inquired.

"Hey, you alright?"

"I'm scared," she admitted. I noticed tears attempting to escape her eyes. I hate seeing her like this.

"Shhh... I'm here, I'll protect you... and your friends, too," I said, smiling broadly. I examined the bar for a suitable hiding spot.

"We're just going to wait until they're gone, okay?" I said. I wrapped my hand around her to keep her safe, but I was still keeping an eye on the place.

As soon as I was certain that it was okay, I informed them that they were free to crawl out from the table whenever they were ready. Everyone is fine, according to my checks.

"What the hell was that?" Summer's friend asked.

"I don't know," Summer said.

"How are you? "Do you know what happened?" her companion said.

"No, I have no idea," "Let's go, I'll bring you home,"

I need to get them out of here as soon as possible. I need to get back to the mansion immediately. I really hope that Keahi was okay. I need to know what was going on. Why were the hunters out here?
