Chapter 5: Brigid.

Blaze's POV

"Are you sure you don't know them?" Summer inquired.

"Trust me, I don't. "I just got there because I saw you," I stated.

We were driving to her house. So I decided to bring her home to ensure her safety.

"We're here," I said quietly.

"Thank you, and hey... umm... you'll show up again, right?" She mentioned this before getting out of the car.

"I'll show up whenever you need me, Summer," I promised.

"That was all I needed to hear. "Thank you for protecting me earlier," she replied, smiling brightly.

I waited for her till she entered their home. Before going to the estate, I checked to see if they had followed me.

*On the grounds of the mansion*

I parked the car close to the gate. There were numerous cars parked outside. Keahi, I believe, gathered the pack.

"We're waiting for you, Blaze," Tom explained.

"What's going on?" I inquired as I hurriedly opened the door.

I was taken aback when I saw Brigid. She was resting her head on the ground, and Keahi had positioned himself next to her. She was recuperating, but there was a lot of blood everywhere I looked. The majority of the wolves had scrapes and gunshot wounds. Silver bullets and arrows were utilized by the hunters.

"How did they find us?" I questioned Keahi on the matter.

"They are after the bar, Blaze," Tom replied.

"What about the bar?" "How did they find out?" I persisted in questioning.

"They saw me," Brigid explained.

We glance at her, puzzled. Brigid has already started the process of healing herself. She stood up and motioned for us to accompany her to a separate room. For their safety, we decided to let the pack members and the cub sleep in the mansion.

"What do you mean, they saw you?" Keahi asked a question.

"I followed both you and Blaze," she explained.

"Did you follow us? "Are you in your wolf form?" I inquired, and she nodded.

"I'd like to know where you're heading. I don't want to be alone here... I'd like to hang out with you as well!" Brigid admitted it.

"How come you didn't just tell us?" Look what occurred, you just endangered our lives!" Keahi yelled.

"You and your spoiled brat attitude." Why do I have to tell you what to do all the time, Brigid? Your defenses were incredibly direct." Keahi elaborated.

I knew he was upset, and I was as well. We may have all been slaughtered if we hadn't managed to flee.

"I apologize! "I had no idea there were hunters at Tom's bar," she exclaimed.

"Brigid, they're all over the place. You're aware of how much humans despise us, right? That's why we're hiding; we don't want this to happen," Tom explained.

I didn't say anything, just stood there watching them argue. I don't want to waste my time on this bullshit; I'm exhausted.

"Why are you so quiet?" Brigid inquired.

"Please, I'm exhausted." "I'll just go to my room, so please excuse me; you guys need to rest as well," I explained.

"You resent me?" Is that why you don't want to marry me? "Because I'm stupid, right?" she exclaimed. I noticed her eyes turning crimson this time. She was furious, and her fangs were visible. Tom and Keahi headed outside. They always made me deal with Brigid's attitude, which I dislike.

"Look, I just don't want to add fuel to the fire," I tried to reassure her.

"No, Blaze, I'm curious." She mumbled, "I saw you with a girl, and you're trying to protect her."

"Why do you care so much?" I was irritated, I said.

"You know why I care so much, so tell me, was she the reason you don't want to marry me?" She questioned me before grabbing the vase and tossing it to the floor.

I kept quiet since I didn't want to offend her. Brigid has adored me since we were children. I simply ignored it in any manner I could.

"Answer me, Blaze!" she yelled, shattering glass to the left and right. I took her hand in mine and drew her closer to me. I hugged her tightly to comfort her.

"Yes, Brigid, she's the one I'm going to marry. "I've loved her since the first time I saw her three years ago," I grumbled.

"How come, Blaze?" She is a human being. Why is she there? "Why shouldn't I?" She went on while crying. I understand how upsetting this was for her. It was the second time in her life that her heart had been broken.

"Why can't I always have someone I love?" She objected.

"I'm sorry," I apologized.

I embrace her until she nods off. I carried her to her bed and wrapped her in her favorite blanket.

"Finally, she falls asleep," Tom sighs.

"I feel bad for her," I confessed.

"Are you sure about marrying that girl?" Keahi inquired.

"Blaze, she's human," Tom said.

"I know, but she's the one I want," I declared.

"How would you tell her who you really are?" Keahi asked a question.

"I don't know, just leave it to me," I said.

"I hope you were correct on this. If this doesn't work, you'll have no choice but to marry Brigid," Keahi stated as he exited Brigid's chamber.

"I trust you, Blaze, but we don't have much time left," Tom said as he rubbed my shoulder.

"Yeah..," I said.

I was conscious that this was for the benefit of our tribe. I put off this marriage for far too long because I was waiting for her, and now I needed to improve my game to win her heart.

I went to the woods to unwind. The lake surrounding the mansion was quite chilly and soothing. I stripped naked and dove into the water. The moon was the only source of light in this place. I tried not to howl as a werewolf because the hunters might still be around.

Something sounded in the bushes. I got out of the lake to investigate. Was that also a wolf? But I can't detect anything. Was it a scout? My wolf was alerted too by the noise.

"Who was here? I yelled, "Come out or I'll kill you!"

"Uhm... Hi?" It turned out to be Summer's voice. What was she doing here? In the forest?

"Summer?" I burst out laughing. This lady was insane, I tell you.
