Kristof's Point of View I was just going through the pack accounts, which was not my most favourite of jobs when my phone rang. Noah was on the other end, "Alpha. We have been following Aláine as you requested. This morning, she was running in the park with her dog. Just now, a couple of possible rogues tried to take her, but we got there in time. Unfortunately, her dog, Axel, was tasered by the arseholes. Sorry, Alpha. We've got her and the dog in our vehicle. What do you want us to do?" The first thing I felt was fear. I hadn't felt that in a long time. It felt like my stomach hitting the floor when I received that phone call, and then rage set in. Someone was attempting to take my mate from me. Someone was trying to take my pack's Luna. Being this possessive wasn't something I thought I was capable of, but I was obviously mistaken. Aláine was my mate and my Luna. There was no way in hell I would let anyone take her. I wouldn't let them hurt her any more than they had already done
Zayde's Point of View My wife Francis and I were just finishing our breakfast. She was heading back to the palace to manage the hospital, and we didn't get much time to spend together. It was small since werewolves didn't get sick that much, though they could get injured or have cancer. Cancer was nasty because our metabolisms were so fast. It gave us superhuman strength and healed us quickly, but it could also kill us just as quickly when it came to cancer. There was also a research centre researching the effects of Aconite, otherwise known as wolf's bane. While it is quite a pretty flower, it is toxic to most species, especially werewolves. It can seriously harm the heart, muscles and nerves. As well as being the chief surgeon, Francis oversaw this research to devise an antidote in case of poisoning. It was a rather nasty poison. As much as I miss spending time with her, her job was essential. I would savour these moments together. My job was being a pack doctor to Alpha Kristo
Aláine's Point of View Anxiously, I observed the doctor taking care of Axel. His name was Zayde, and he was softly spoken and as thorough as any vet and seemed very gentle with Axel. Zayde patted and talked to Axel while checking him. I wondered if he forgot that Axel was just a dog, but I was grateful that he took such good care of him. I was hopeful that Axel was going to be alright. Strange, but I also felt safe and secure as Kristof held me tightly in his arms throughout the doctor's visit. His hand gently caressed my cheek and neck, seemingly without thought but with such care. It was pleasant and I could get used to this. "Axel should be okay, but he needs rest. It appears not to be serious, but we have no idea if there is any long term damage," said the doctor. "He will need monitoring for a while to see if there will be any after-effects from the taser. I am sorry I could not give you any better news." "Thank you," I replied quietly. "Now let's see to your injuries," he s
Aláine's Point of View Utter exhaustion and emotionally depleted was all I felt right now. So many questions ran through my mind. On the one hand, it was convenient that I was to stay with Kristof, but he seemed genuine, not that I had much experience with males. Actually... no experience in the sex department and hardly any more in the dating department. But I was not going to dwell on that. He said he would let Zara stay here for a while, and I was certainly happy about that. I was surrounded by mostly male werewolves and needed my best friend here to keep things real. Things were moving extremely fast with Kristof, and I relied upon Zara for her excellent advice. It suddenly occurred that Noah and the other man were conveniently there when I needed help. I was not entirely suspicious of them, or their motives, but I just thought I needed this clearing up. "Why were Noah and the other man following me?" I asked Kristof. "As soon as I found you, I had people guarding you. I am an
Kristof's Point of View I seized the opportunity to check out where Aláine lived to better understand what she was like. I was glad that she had a single bed in her room. No pictures of boyfriends on her dresser. Nothing in the room indicated that another male had been there; not the kind of room to bring someone home to. No potential male suitors I would have to fight off or kill. After all, wolves were possessive by nature, and I was an Alpha, making me doubly so. I would not share. I watched her put her clothes in a bag, and they were all sensible, and I liked that. I might be the next Kingdom of Grey Moon's Alpha, but it didn't necessarily mean I had extravagant tastes. I sat down on her bed to watch her, and I was excited that she was coming to live with me. There was no way I was going to let her come back here. She was mine, and I intended to make sure she stayed that way. Yes, I was possessive and determined. Aláine's Point of View When we got back to the packhouse, Kris
Noah's Point of View I couldn't believe Kristof was allowing me to bring Zara home to the packhouse. She would be my mate, but I wasn't going to mention how important Zara was to me. Yet. That would come later. I wanted to wait until Kristof and Aláine sorted out their mating, given how reluctant she was at this stage. Zara had assured me that she liked Kristof. Still, she wasn't the type to rush into relationships because she'd been pressured and hurt before. I didn't know much of what had gone on, but I figured that Zara would help if needed. Right now, I wanted to think about Zara. My chocolate Goddess and my mate. She was gorgeous and meant everything to me. When I first saw her nightclubbing, I hooked up with her immediately. I saw another couple of males eyeing her up, and I wasn't going to let them anywhere near her. Despite trying to project a casual air, I was worried that she might want to date around. At that point, I would have needed to mention to Kristof that I wante
Aláine's Point of View When I woke up early the following day, sunlight streamed through the windows. There were dark coloured unpatterned curtains, but they had not been closed. I was momentarily disoriented until I remembered that I was not at home now but at the packhouse. I didn't remember going to bed last night, and now I was in bed and I was being held down. I couldn't move, except I discovered that I was not actually being held down. I was being cuddled by Kristof. His arm was resting on me, holding me in a sleeping embrace. This was an entirely new experience for me as I had never shared my bed with anyone. Other than Tyra or Zara, that is, when we were kids. That didn't count. My heart beat marathon fast, and I was unsure what to do. I also noticed that I was wearing nothing more than my cami top and underwear. No bra even! I was sure I had been dressed when I laid down next to Axel. Was that where I fell asleep? Did Kristof undress me last night? I felt embarrassed bec
Kristof's Point of View I watched her enter the ensuite. Damn, she was sexy, and it was like she didn't realise it. It was apparent that she was inexperienced, but I wondered how inexperienced. I also wondered if she was a virgin. I liked that idea, and I was hoping that was the case. I would then be her first and last. When I entered the bedroom last night and saw her asleep next to Axel, I spent quite a while just watching her. She was more than sexy; she was so beautiful. Axel would make a sound in his sleep every now and then, and in her sleep, Aláine would stroke him to calm him. I recognised that she was more than beautiful but also caring and loving. I longed to have her in my arms and be the one in her loving arms. Last night after watching her for quite a while, I had carefully lifted her up and placed her on my bed. Slowly, I removed her shoes and clothes, leaving only her cami and panties. I had even removed her bra so she wouldn't be uncomfortable. I then slid careful
