“Thanks for the drink. Goodnight.” I set the glass on the table, waiving on my way out.

“Are you abandoning me with this situation? What am I supposed to do with this?” A trickle of heat danced over my bare arms.

“Excuse me? What situation?” I spun around. The bulge in his pants made it apparent. “Yup. I am totally abandoning this situation. I didn’t cause this. You and the Moon Goddess are to blame.” The goddess swam close to the surface. I blinked, imagining suppressing her in the depths of the ocean.

“What if I order you to resolve this?” His eyes blazed with the belief he could take what he wanted. “Women throw themselves at my feet and I am offering you the opportunity to warm my bed.”

Gag! “You can’t order me!” I made a face. “I don’t like you very much, Alpha Zander. You speak with no empathy or tact. Shall I remind you I have a mate? I’m learning to navigate that without complicating shit further.”

“None of those are obstacles that cannot be overcome.” He dismisse
