Five : Mate!

"Do I really have to be there in such an early hour? The party's still in two weeks, can I go at least a week before." I whined like a child at Sam.

"Come on. Calix was your childhood friend, wasn't it? What's the matter with that? Are you not happy to see him again after a very long time?" He said.

"Do I want to see him again?" I asked like a ten year old brat girl.

"Yes, you do. Now go. Earl and Rose are waiting for you!"

"But I don't want to go!" I whined again, I slumped my butt to the last step of the front stairs.

"Don't be a baby, Cai! Come on!" Frustrated Sam said.

"You always say that I am your baby girl, Sam." I stated giving him my best ever reliable puppy eyes. Which consists of me pouting and my eyes getting a little bigger while they sparkle. It works every-single-time.

He closed his eyes tightly. "Oh don't give me that oh-so-cute puppy eyes of yours!" He pulled me up and threw me inside the car. I whined drastically. 'Sam!'

"I'll see you in two weeks, baby girl!" He smiled giving me a flying kiss. I scoffed in my seat when Earl started the engine and drove off.

Earl and Rose bickered for almost the whole ride. It took almost five hours before we reached the Black Stone Moon pack territory.

"No! I can do whatever I want! With or without your permission!" Rose yelled.

"No! You can't go lurking around there. Yes, we are visitors but you don't even know what's in store for us!" Earl yelled at his twin. Ugh!

I raised my both hands. "Alright children! Stop fighting! Geez! Can't you give me peace in here? I have my earphone in the highest volume but you still manage to wreck it. If you two will not stop I am gonna throw you both out of this car, right here, right now." I threatened them. They went dead silent and I let out a deep breath. "Good. Now let us drive in peace." They nodded as we hit the road again.

They stopped by the gas station after three hours in the road. I got out of the car and stretched my legs. Rose invited me to buy something to munch while on the road since It's still two hours from the pack.

We entered the convenience store and roamed around. I took a lot of chocolates consisting of; Cadbury black forest, a box of Ferrero Rochi, a chocolate bar, and chocolate chip cookies. I also added a bottled water and a pair of sneakers. I met Rose at the counter, her basket full of junk food.

"Are you serious? You're gonna kill yourself by eating those junk, you know." I snorted at her, she rolled her eyes.

"Yeah. Like you can't die by eating a bunch of chocolates, huh." She mocked.

"Why I love them!" I exclaimed.

"Why, I love this junk too!" She retorted and we both burst in laughter and paid for our cavities.

As we stepped out of the store, a gust of wind blew making me sniff the air. I turned to my left to see Earl straddling a Rogue, a female rogue. Rose stiffened. "Stay here. I'll check on them." I gave her my things and stalked towards Earl and the rogue.

The female rogue noticed me and her eyes widened as she tried to push Earl away from her but Earl didn't move an inch.

"What's happening here?" I asked in my Alpha voice. Earl growled then snapped his head to my direction. I glared at him.

"Alpha! Sorry for my--" I cut his word by raising my hand.

"What's happening here?" I repeated, I cocked my brows and tilted my head when Earl blushed.

"She is m-my mate, Alpha." he stuttered out. I grinned, motioning Rose to come.

"What?" She asked in a whisper.

"Looks like your twin grew up. He found his mate." I teased.

"Alpha! I--"

He didn't even finish his sentence when Rose squealed, jumping up and down in excitement.

"Can I see her?! Oh my gosh! Can I see her?" She beamed making her twin sigh in relief.

"You aren't angry even if she's a rogue?" He turned to me, I shook my head. "She's a part of your family now, Earl. So don't go getting tied up on your tail and be proud. Mind introducing your mate to us?" I said and asked, grinning.

"Yeah!" Rose squealed.

His smile widened and he held his girl. "This is Lori, my mate." He said proudly, but the girl in front of us showed fear and horror.

"Hey, we won't hurt you." I said assuring her.

"Yes! We won't hurt you. I am Earl's twin sister." Rose introduced herself. "And this is Alpha Cailly." She said pointing at me and I gave her a comforting smile.

"A-alpha? Y-you are an Alpha?" Lori asked me, stuttering. I gave her a short nod.

"You could say that." I Shrug. "We better go, I'm the one driving this time. You two can take your time knowing each other at the back." I said and was about to start walking. "But don't, ugh, do anything more than talking alright?"

Earl and Lori blushed while Rose giggled. "Aw! They are so cute!" I chuckled.

"Wait, so you mean we can take her with us?" Earl asked all of a sudden. I raised my brow at him. "What?" I gave him a blank face.

He look panicked "But A-alpha--!"

"Of course she's coming with us. I will not leave anyone behind." I spat playfully. Once again, he sighed in relief and turned to his mate. "Come on." She nodded, her face was covered by her hair. I undid my hair from it's ponytail and gave her my hair tie. She looked up at me, confused. I smiled at her.

"A beautiful girl like you shouldn't be ashamed, we'll talk later okay?" I said softly and she nodded, accepting the ponytail and tied her hair in a high bun. I saw Earl's eyes lit up.

"Shall we?"

They all nodded and we got inside the car and hit the road again. Rose couldn't keep her mouth shut even if I warned her already, her excitement to know her brother's mate consumed her, All i could do was laugh at them. Lori, Earl's mate loosened up and already felt comfortable in our presence.

"I never thought that you would accept a rogue like me. Thank you Alpha Cailly." She said to me. I looked up at her on the rear view mirror and smiled. "You're my beta's mate, why wouldn't I accept you? he's a good friend to me too. I don't want to see him miserable if I take his happiness away." I said smiling and Earl smiled back. "You are our family now. You're now part of the Midnight Howler pack." She gasped and her eyes widened.

"The strongest pack here? I thought that pack is ruthless and merciless to every rogue alive." She blurted out. I was about to speak when Earl spoke up.

"We used to be but Alpha Cailly isn't like that. She thinks before she acts. She gives the rogues a chance to explain and she allows the rogues to have second chances. Our former alpha would have killed a rogue from first sight but not her. Alpha here is different... except when you get on her bad side." He stated, grinning at me. I sent him a glare.

During the whole ride we talked, laughed, joked and didn't even notice that we entered the Black Stone Moon pack territory. When we did notice it, we kept quiet until we reached the pack house. An older man was standing in the porch. The car stopped to a halt and I got out of the car to meet the older man.

"Alpha Hale." I greeted, smiling at him.

"Dalton, please call me Dalton. My son is the Alpha now. Is that you Cailly?" He asked with a wide smile and I nodded.

He held my shoulders and checked me from head to toe. I suddenly felt conscious of myself since I was only wearing a red tee shirt, ripped jeans and a pair of sneakers.

I am 5'10 in height and I never had a perfect body but I am not fat nor skinny. I am slim with a slightly tanned skin and my hair is dyed blonde but since my real hair color is black, the upper part of my is black.

"You've grown up so much beautifully, Cailly!" He exclaimed. "You're not so bad yourself." I muttered, chuckling.

I moved away from him to introduce my friends. "Dalton, I want you to meet Rose, my best friend and Earl, my beta. They're twins. This is Lori,  she's my Earl's mate. You wouldn't mind if she stays here with us, right?"

"Of course sweetheart." He gave us a warm smile. "Welcome to our humble home." He grinned and let as inside the house. "Come on, it's almost dinner time. I will take you to your rooms and then I'll just call you if dinner is ready." he lead us upstairs where a row of doors is located.

He took Earl and Rose to the left wing on the second floor while I, on the other hand, am on the right wing. I can recognize this as the same old room I used ten years ago. I thanked him before he left.

"Calix will be happy to see you. He didn't know you were coming." He grinned and I grinned back. "I shall fetch you when it's  dinner. I'll let the pack know about the girl you're with." He muttered and I nodded.

"We just met her on the way her and since she was the mate of my beta, I couldn't  leave her behind." I stated, he gave me a smile. "You're doing great. We have a lot to talk about later." He patted my shoulder and hugged me. I hugged him back and then we parted. I roamed my eyes around the room. It's still the same room. It never changed. The bed, the plush sofa. The fire place, the flat screen tv on top. The night stand. The bathroom, closet, drawers. I went inside the bathroom and stripped off of my clothes and took a short shower just for refreshment. After a good 15 minutes under shower, I walked out of the bathroom to see my bag on top of my bed. I rummaged my clothes and grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a tank top together with a pair of undergarments.

I threw myself on the bed after placing my bags on the side and drifted to sleep.

I woke up when someone jumped on top of my bed. I opened my eyes to and was about to yell at whoever disturbed my--was peaceful sleep. There I saw Rose on my bed jumping and Dalton leaning on the door frame, a grin stuck on his face. I rolled my eyes.

"Come on sleepy head. Dinners ready." Rose said pulling me up.

Dalton didn't say anything but chuckle. He lead us downstairs to the kitchen area.

I was stopped on my track to be welcomed by an amazing scent, it's minty mixed in sweet chocolate scent. I drooled and continue walking inside the kitchen.

Within I saw a couple making out, a girl sitting on the counter top with a man kissing her neck. My eyes widened as I realized who this man. I felt my wolf whimper and block herself from me. 'Mate!' she said in my head. I feel like I was hit by a sixteen wheeler truck. I suddenly hid my scent when Dalton cleared his throat and they stopped. The girl hid her face to his neck.

"Calix, you can do that inside your room." He smirked, his eyes pitch black, lust.

"He's being aroused by some other woman." once again, my wolf whimpered in pain. I tried to contain myself not to cry in front of them, I was about to excuse myself when Dalton pulled me to him.

"Calix, I want you to meet Cailly, I know you still remember her." His gaze turned to me, meeting his eyes makes me hypnotize. They are a shade of blue, so beautiful. I didn't notice that he was standing in front of me.

"Cailly? Ai? Is that you?" His face lit up in a wide smile. I can't find my voice, I just nodded my head 'yes', he was about to hold me when I take a step back. "Your mate might get jealous." Finally I speak up. His smile widen.

He pulled the girl near him, his arm around her waist. I felt a pang in my chest but I keep my face normal.

"I never had the chance to meet my mate" He said in a low voice, he look so sad. I want to touch him, to comfort him but I restrained my self for doing so. I place my both hands inside my pocket. When he continue. "But when I met her" he look down to her with full of love. "I felt complete. Ai, this is Athena. My future wife and luna." He introduced her in full of pride and love. The girl blushed and extend her hand. I hesitated at first but I reached for her to shake and pull away to keep my hands in my pocket.

"It's nice to meet you, Athena. I hope Ai not giving you a hard time." I tried to joke.

Calix rolles his eyes, I bit back my sob. That was so cute of him. I choked to myself.

I excused myself for I can't take it anymore, seeing them with their sweet gesture, my heart broken into pieces.

"I-i uhm I don't feel good. Can I go back to my room?" I asked Dalton. He looks worried and nodded. I turn to see Rose staring at me. I know she know something is wrong. "I'll take you" She offered. I nodded.

We're about to leave when Rose stiffened. She sniff the air and her eyes turns black and in time a handsome man entered the room, his eyes bore to her and I know exactly what it is.

"Mate" they said in unison. The man stalk to her and bring her to his arms. I felt envy. I clutch my chest and I started to walk. "I'll meet you tomorrow" is all I can say and walk upstairs to my room.

Once I reached my room, I lock it and fall on the floor. I let out the sob and tears I am holding back.

My wolf is crying, whimpering inside of me, I can't do anything but do the same.

I cried until I felt myself numb.
