Veldana’s POV

He looked at me with eyes that told me in no uncertain words that what I said was correct and I felt something in me crash. But when he spoke, the words were soft and calm, “Your hair is wet. Come on, I don’t want you to catch a cold,” I was so confused by the turn of events that I allowed him to lift me from my crouch and lead me to the room. He placed me on a chair and went to take a hair drier.

When he returned, he plugged it in and started to dry my hair. “What happened?” I asked him when I found my tongue again.

“It is better you don’t know,” he told me taking another segment and blowing it. It felt so good, I wanted to close my eyes and lean into it but my mind was all over the place.

“I thought so too but now…” I sighed and shook my head.

“Why do you think our bond got broken?”

“A lady was here earlier. She told me.”

“What lady?” He asked stopping his work on my hair.

“I did not get her name. She is tall and really pretty. She smells nice too.”
