For the first few seconds, I froze until Iris sang in my head with a low voice, 'Busted.'

I stepped away from Karson immediately like his closeness would burn my face and bring out the truth.

"What are you talking about? Don't be ridiculous!" I moved around quickly and got busy with my hands, "Would you like stir-fry? It's the fastest I can whip up-"

"I'd like an answer to my question," he pressed and literally pressed into me from behind making me yelp. I moved away from under him again, threading my fingers through my hair as I thought of a way out of this.

Goddess! I was every shade of guilty with how I was acting. What was wrong with me?

'Just tell him about me,' Iris whined but aggressively like she could smack me if she was standing right in front of me.
