Caspian's POV

My wolf was relentless. I was not given  single minute of peace in my being as it clawed at me to do something.

At first, I refused to acknowledge it, keeping a straight face and staring into the distance, away from the sheer embarrassment that this stupid man was putting her through.

The more his words turned harsher, the harder I gritted my teeth.

I should not interfere. After all, she is not the one I came for.

Then he hit her. The metallic smell of blood hit my nose and I heard her wolf howl for mine, a bond that I did not even know both of them had managed to form in the few minutes we kissed.

That was it. I could not bear it anymore.

" That's enough!" I finally let out.

The entire room went cold. Even her father that had been in a corner smirking slightly had the smirk wiped off his face almost immediately.

He sputtered and cleared his throat, trying to form words.

" Alpha Caspian. This must be so upsetting for you to watch. I know you hate mingling with things like this. They will take it somewhere else now" he said.

As he spoke, he gestured to a guard to come pick her up, Alpha Brian shooting me a glare before he got up too, clearly going to another room to continue her torture.

" Don't touch her." I snarled at the guards that attempted to pick her up.

Immediately, their hands left hers, my order more domineering than the flimsy excuse of an Alpha I had come to see.

He gave an uneasy chuckle again.

" You seem to have been provoked Alpha Caspian. Please forgive me. That's the thing with Morgan. She has a way of making her issues the problem of everyone else.

This is just a little way of trying to discipline her. Her mate has been nothing but kind to her and all she has been is disrespectful and wicked to him. He is only correcting her"

Wait...she used to have a mate?

That little twinge of jealousy that I did not want to bloom took root in my chest, not caring that I was trying to shake off the feeling in my head.

So this man child used to be her mate?

Was this what the family has turned to now? Is this the kind of a family I was going to marry into?

I stared down at the snivelling mess of an alpha, Brian.

His eyes met mine, holding it no longer than a few minutes before he looked back down.

Good.

" A man that beats his wife is no worse than an animal. Correction? You are humiliating her and ruining her sanity. Surely that has nothing to do with you correcting her."

He scoffed.

" And who are you to tell me what to do?"

I raised a brow, the air grew tense.

Amara that sat beside me just an instant ago shrunk slowly away from me as though she was scared of what my anger might do now that I seemed livid.

" If I were you I would thread lightly. You should not run your mouth so certainly when you are in my presence "

He scoffed.

" Well she is my mate and how I decide to correct or talk to her has zero to nothing to do with you".

My eyes turned to stare back at Morgan, now conflicted.

I knew now that I was acting mainly on the fact that she was my mate and I could not bear to see her this way. But on the other hand, I did not also want to set myself up with her. Amara was good for my pack. Marrying her will be a solid tie for my pack and hers.

Not Morgan.

" I'm sorry for stressing you out Alpha Caspian. I will stay away now" she said.

She gave a low bow, a few droplets of blood staggering to the floor while I tried to think.

Goddess...I was about to make a mistake.

" Do you want to go back with him to the pack?" I asked her.

A small crowd had gathered by now.

At first they had settled on just slightly peeking in and then walking away, but now, they either did not care that we could see them, or they just were not having it.

Morgan raised her head up in shock.

" What?"

" You heard me. Do you want to return back to his pack?"

She shook her head slowly, then she stopped.

" I don't have anywhere else to go Alpha Caspian"

Amara got up abruptly.

" Baby...this is all just a misunderstanding. Can we please let these love birds settle amongst themselves while we focus on us?" She asked, instantly coming to my side and clinging onto my arms.

It irked me.

I pulled my hands away from hers, her face falling as she turned to stare at Morgan like she was the problem.

" Can't you see my mate is stressing himself out because of you? Just how selfish can you be?! Apologize right now and leave"

I glared at her, a low growl leaving my lips.

She stumbled back, her words faltering, eyes filled with surprise as she stared at her father for support.

I was definitely making a fucking mistake.

" Morgan I asked you a question. Do you want to go back with him?!"

She swallowed.

" No I don't."

" Then that settles it. From today on wards, I acknowledge and recognize Morgan as a member of my pack. She will not belong to this pack of the pack of...this man. Is that clear?"

The air turned sour.

" Alpha Caspian you really don't have to...."

" I asked if that is clear?!"

No one said anything again.

I took that as my answer.

" Good. Pack your your bags Morgan. You are returning to my pack with me.".

Morgan's POVI quickly realized just how different this pack was from the ones I was used to. It was not only the structure or that blissful feeling in the air, it was also the quiet discipline that everyone seemed to follow without being forced to.And more often than not, it was the friendliness. The first woman I met was an angel. I had gotten so used to people being irritated when they saw me, I somehow made it my whole personality without realizing it. But this woman....She took one look at me, watching me fidget with the map that the servant had thrust into my hands, beaming with smiles as she approached me." You must be new here" she said.I nodded, smiling softly." Yes ma'am, I just came with Alpha Caspian this evening"I stared back at the map, trying to make a sense of it and failing horribly. The pack was insanely huge. It needed a map just to locate places like the Alpha office and the dining hall.I expected her pleasantries to end there but it didn't.She hummed." O

Caspian's POVDerek did not like her. I could tell from the way he scrunched up his nose from the minute she got out of the car, his eyes trailing over hers slowly like she was a bad piece of meat." Get her a room at the quarters and tell the servants to move her things in" i said to the servant that has come to collect my brief case.Just like Derek, he scrunched up his nose but did not say a word, motioning at her to come as he picked up her luggage." Alpha Caspian..." She called just as I turned to leave." Yes?"She swallowed." Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you"I hummed.Maybe it was not such a bad thing to do. That little vote of thanks was enough to mask all the troubles I felt in a few minutes, leaving me smiling from ear to ear." We will meet tomorrow to discuss further things, but for now, you should go stay in your room..the servants will get you something to eat and put you through if you need anything"With that said, I pretended

Morgan's POVThere was nothing left of my dignity in this pack. I had lost it all from the moment I was born fat and ugly.I felt the urge to die, to climb up the tallest mountain and jump down into certain death but I did not trust myself enough to do it. So I went with the more embarrassing option, begging Brian. He was seated very closely to Alpha Caspian when I walked in, his eyes lighting up with mischief as he stared at me.Alpha Caspian and I stared at each other for a brief second before he looked away, as though embarrassed to let people see that brief exchange." Oh here she is....finally! I was beginning to think you would never come!" Amara yelled from her spot in alpha caspian's arms, cuddled up so close to him like he was the only life line she had.In opposite seats sat my parents, their own eyes scrutinizing me too with irritation. My hands quivered and I prayed for the ground to open and swallow me.This was a humiliation ritual, the kind that could soothe the growing

  • The Alpha’s Rejected Plus-Sized Mate   6

Morgan's POVMy first kiss was when I was fifteen. It has come later than the other girls who had their first kiss very early into their lives.I remembered how desolate I had felt, standing in front of the other girls and watching them recount these memories while I stood there with my chubby body, wanting to hide away from the eyes of everyone. It was not until fifteen that I got my first "pity" kiss. A boy had been dared to kiss me and after our lips crashed in youthful exuberance, he had rushed to clean off his lips like he could contact leprosy from just my lips."I'm never kissing a fat bitch again!" He had howled as he rushed back to the group of boys that stood in a corner, pointing and laughing.Somehow, that single sentence was enough to dismiss the butterflies that had gathered in my stomach from my first kiss replacing me instead with dread. After that unruly boy was Brian. Not enough experience but I still knew that a kiss should not feel so..... energetically charged.Ou

Caspian's POVI felt the bile rise in my throat as I listened to him talk. It was obvious that he had already planned this entire proposed speech of how great his pack was before my arrival.Every word sounded like a bragging right for him, his laughter tickling the anger in my chest as I tried to keep my emotions at bay. This was all the fault of Derek. I wonder why I allowed him convince me that this family would be worth marrying into.Just a few minutes in and I was already feeling irked."I would also think that it would be a great thing for us to collaborate once in a while you know? Especially in the aspect of the communication sector among alphas and...."He was still rambling on when that scent hit my nose. At first it was almost unnoticeable, just that gentle whiff that caused my wolf to stand at high alert, my usually calm wolf twitching in my chest as its pacing grew faster. What was that scent?I turned around to look, tuning out the Alpha that was now talking about how h
