Karen’s POV

The second wave of my heat hit harder in the early hours of the afternoon.

One moment, I was drifting in half-sleep, and the next, fire ripped through me again.

I gasped, my back arching slightly as heat flooded my veins, sharper, more vicious than before. My body felt too small for the storm raging inside me. My skin burned, my heart raced, and my breath came in broken pants.

“No…” I whispered hoarsely. “Not again.”

My wolf slammed against my control, restless and furious. She hated the distance, hated that our mate wasn’t here to claim us, to calm the madness tearing us apart.

I wished he were here.

The distress became too much. I had never cried so hard.

Tears spilled down my cheeks as another wave crashed through me, leaving me weak and trembling. I curled tighter, clutching the sheets as though they could somehow ground me.

Thankfully, some of the maids entered for my care routine. This period was considered special for me, constant attention, constant monitoring. I h

Zaiden’s POVI turned back to Adrian. “Let’s go together. I’ll need help at that soup place.”“Really?” he chuckled. “What do you want to do?”“I want to get some delicious soup for my Luna, and a few gifts too. I trust you’re good with… ladies’ things.”“Don’t say that like it’s a bad thing,” he said with a grin. “Trust me, you need that knowledge too.”“Maybe,” I snorted. He chuckled loudly. “The big, bad Alpha trying to understand women? That’s a huge change. I should go thank Karen for this,” he said, laughing. I groaned.“What?” he continued teasing. “Should I tell her you don’t fancy women’s things and don’t even know what she likes? Or should I tell her that women just irritate you?” He burst out laughing again.“What the fuck?” I snapped. “When did I ever say that? And trust me, she’ll never believe you over me.”“Jokes on you,” he said, still laughing. “She will.”We headed toward Xavier’s library first.I stepped inside and asked Adrian to wait for me outside. Eryx still wa

Zaiden’s POVThe next morning, after breakfast, we decided to check on Eryx. He was recovering faster than expected. Maureen was called in again to examine him. After giving him some medications, she advised that he remain under observation for a while until they were certain he was stable.“Alpha Zaiden,” Xavier called. “We need to plan ahead before Eryx recovers fully, so we can move swiftly.”“Okay,” I replied. “Don’t you have any ideas?”“I don’t,honestly,” he said, running a hand over his face.“Alright then,” I smirked. “We could try something a little… fishy.”“Like what?” he asked.“Watch and see,” I said.“Why do I feel like you’re up to no good?”“Because I’m not,” I said with a smile.I mindlinked Adrian and asked him to bring one of the tracking devices from the car. We always kept one there in case of a mischievous situation.A few moments later, Adrian walked in.“Good day, Alphas,” he greeted.“Adrian,” I acknowledged.“This is what you asked for,” he said, stretching

Zaiden POV “Okay, I understand,” Eryx said calmly.“Fine,” the priestess replied. She joined both hands together and began to chant words only she understood. Almost immediately, Eryx groaned. Luckily, the priestess had placed a towel in his mouth to stop him from screaming. After a while, it became clear that the bond had been severed. Sweat rolled down both their foreheads, and they were breathing heavily. The priestess then instructed them to separate their hands.Eryx collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.I gasped and rushed forward to help him, but the priestess stopped me.“Leave him,” she said firmly. “This is normal. The separation is temporary, but I advise you to bring a healer to examine him and ensure he’s strong enough to embark on the journey. Otherwise, he may not survive the road.”We carried him to the bed.A few minutes later, Maureen entered the library.“Good day, Alphas,” she greeted, bowing.“Good day, Maureen,” I replied with a smile.“You look quite vibra

“Umm…” I hummed.“You’re making me scared, Zaiden. Say something,” I half-screamed. He chuckled softly.“It’s nothing too serious, just that I was attacked by rogues on my way here. But I’m fine now,” he said quickly.“Oh my goodness,” I cried out. “What happened? Did you get hurt? What did they do to you?” I asked all at once, hot tears sliding down my cheeks.“My little Luna, trust me, I’m fine, perfectly healed, even.”“When did this happen?” I asked.“On the day I came back,” he answered.“Was that the reason I didn’t receive any calls from you until days later?”“Truthfully, yes,” he said, letting out a breath like he’d been holding it in for too long.“Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked quietly.“I didn’t want to make you worry,” he replied.I took a deep breath. “I’ll call you back.”“Are you pissed at me?” he asked, fear flickering in his eyes.“I’m not.”“Come on, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier.”“That’s no problem. I promise I’m not angry.”“Where are you going?” he asked

Zaiden POV *At Xavier's Office*“Eryx take a seat," Xavier said. “Actually this would take a lot to sacrifice and I hope you are ready for that." “Yes, Alpha, I am." Eryx responded“Ok, First of all, I'm sure you've known about the frequent attacks from the rogues in our pack this past few weeks." Xavier said.“I have." Eryx answered.“Umm..," I could feel Xavier struggling to tell him, I chuckled inwardly.“This requires you sever your bond with the pack and you should be able to locate the rogues and cunningly join them, but your bond with the pack will be severed temporarily, so nothing to worry about.” Xavier explained as he nodded." Would you be able to do that?” He asked Eryx." Yes I can.” He answered cooly."Alright.” "So Alpha Zaiden,” he called as I turned to him. "When are we making a move?” He asked. "Tomorrow, we shouldn't waste more time.” I responded.“Fine,Eryx, is that okay with you?" He asked.“Sure." Eryx answered.*****“I heard about Karen's involvement with
